Alabama-Birmingham at Arkansas 12:00 PM ET
The Arkansas Razorbacks can be excused for wondering if they have the toughest schedule in football. After a grueling stretch of three straight games against top-10 teams, the Razorbacks finally get a reprieve Saturday afternoon as they welcome the UAB Blazers in a non-conference encounter. Arkansas fell to 0-4 in SEC play with a 45-32 loss against visiting Georgia, while the Blazers are coming off a 34-22 loss to Middle Tennessee.
Rutgers at Nebraska 12:00 PM ET
Ameer Abdullah’s quest for a Heisman Trophy has led to an all-out assault of a number of school records at Nebraska, although the most historic part of his next game will be the two teams taking the field. The 16th-ranked Cornhuskers, who host Rutgers on Saturday, watched Abdullah rush for a career-high four touchdowns in last weekend’s 38-17 win over Northwestern. The senior running back also became only the second player in program history to run for over 4,000 yards in his career.
Minnesota at Illinois 12:00 PM ET
In Wisconsin’s Melvin Gordon and Nebraska’s Ameer Abdullah, Illinois has faced two of the nation’s top five tailbacks during its last three games. After a much-needed bye week to prepare, the Illini get yet another on Saturday when David Cobb and 24th-ranked Minnesota visit for their Homecoming game.
Texas at Kansas State 12:00 PM ET
Kansas State coach Bill Snyder won't let his No. 11 Wildcats think about anything but Saturday's visit from Texas. Last week's win against Oklahoma put the Wildcats atop the Big 12 and into the College Football Playoff discussion, although Snyder had nothing to add to that conversation. "All we hear about is the final four ... and that's the last thing on most coaches' minds," Snyder said during his weekly teleconference.
Memphis at Southern Methodist 12:00 PM ET
Buoyed by solid efforts in non-conference road losses to ranked teams, Memphis was hoping to use that springboard to make its mark in the American Athletic Conference and post a winning season for the first time since 2007. They opened the conference with an impressive 41-14 thumping at Cincinnati, but the Tigers lost 28-24 to Houston two weeks ago. It appears the Tigers could have the perfect bounce-back candidate Saturday when they visit struggling Southern Methodist.
Maryland at Wisconsin 12:00 PM ET
Both teams look to stay in the race for division titles when Maryland visits Wisconsin on Saturday in a showcase of two productive Big Ten offenses. Maryland has won five straight on the road – three this season – and features a passing attack that is led by junior wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who boasts 3,667 career all-purpose yards. The Terrapins meet Wisconsin for the first time and must find a way to contain Melvin Gordon, the nation’s leader in rushing yards per game.
North Carolina at Virginia 12:30 PM ET
Despite a solid defensive effort, Virginia lost control of its fate of the ACC Coastal Division lead with a 20-13 loss at Duke last week. The Cavaliers look to bounce back Saturday when they host North Carolina in another conference battle. The Tar Heels have won four straight in the series.
UCLA at Colorado 2:00 PM ET
Colorado is still looking for its first conference win after enduring a 56-28 shaming at the hands of USC this past week, and things don't get any easier with a revitalized UCLA team coming to Boulder on Saturday. The Bruins have won seven straight away from the Rose Bowl after escaping Berkeley with a 36-34 win last Saturday. Brett Hundley gave away the lead in fourth quarter when he threw an interception - his third in as many games - but he rallied the Bruins with a pair of passes and two run
Oregon State at Stanford 3:30 PM ET
Stanford has fallen out of the national rankings for the first time since the 2010 preseason poll and will seek to get back on the winning side of the ledger when it hosts Oregon State on Saturday. The Cardinal dropped out of the polls after suffering a 26-10 loss to Arizona State last Saturday and stands just one game above .500 despite being viewed as a national contender prior to the season. The Beavers are always a threat with quarterback Sean Mannion on the field.
Mississippi State at Kentucky 3:30 PM ET
No. 1 Mississippi State is taking on all challenges and batting them away as it charges toward an SEC crown and a spot in the national championship playoff. The next step for the Bulldogs comes Saturday, when they visit Kentucky. Mississippi State is one of four unbeaten teams left in the country and has yet to score fewer than 34 points in a game behind quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Dak Prescott.
Michigan at Michigan State 3:30 PM ET
No. 5 Michigan State is on a collision course with Ohio State for the Big Ten title and a potential berth in the College Football Playoff, but the Spartans first have to deal with a bitter rival when struggling Michigan pays a visit Saturday. The Spartans have won five straight overall and five of the last six in the series, but they are not about to overlook the Wolverines. "This is still the most important game for me, personally, and for our program," Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio told r
Boston College at Wake Forest 3:30 PM ET
Boston College looks to bounce back from a 17-13 loss to No. 20 Clemson when it travels to Winston-Salem to face Wake Forest on Saturday. The Eagles have lost two out of their last three games and hope to turn their fortunes around by staying undefeated on the road. "We could be sitting here at 6-1, but we're not," coach Steve Addazio told reporters. "We've got to go get our fifth win and find a way to close these games out."
West Virginia at Oklahoma State 3:30 PM ET
West Virginia, fresh off a convincing 41-27 victory over then-No. 4 ranked Baylor, travels to Oklahoma State on Saturday in a battle of two of the three teams tied for second place in the Big 12 Conference. It's only fitting that the No. 25 Mountaineers are visiting Stillwater, Okla., on Homecoming for the Cowboys. West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy in 2010 when the Cowboys went 11-2.
Georgia Tech at Pittsburgh 3:30 PM ET
The Pittsburgh Panthers were picked fifth in the six-team ACC Coastal Division, but the Panthers sit in a first-place tie as they prepare to host Georgia Tech on Saturday. The Panthers snapped a three-game losing streak by upending Virginia Tech on Oct. 16 to kick off a three-game homestand, moving into a tie for first with Duke. Georgia Tech sat atop the division two weeks ago and was one of 10 unbeaten teams in FBS, but a porous defense has allowed 79 points during back-to-back losses.
Florida Atlantic at Marshall 3:30 PM ET
With each passing week, the question of whether Marshall is worthy of a college football playoff berth grows louder and the No. 22 Thundering Herd expect to make more noise Saturday when they host Florida Atlantic. The chances of Marshall, which is one of four remaining undefeated teams, actually elbowing its way past a team from one of the five power conferences remains remote, although the Thundering Herd have an opportunity to finish the regular season perfect.
Texas Tech at Texas Christian 3:30 PM ET
Tenth-ranked Texas Christian rebounded nicely from its first loss of the season with a rout of Oklahoma State but still has West Virginia and Kansas State in the coming weeks, but the Horned Frogs can't afford to look past this week's opponent in Texas Tech. The Red Raiders come to Fort Worth with just one Big 12 victory — last week over Kansas — though Tech fell by just 10 to OSU and three to West Virginia. TCU is known as a high-scoring unit — averaging 45.2 points per outing.
Vanderbilt at Missouri 4:00 PM ET
Defending SEC East champion Missouri has managed to win two games during a three-game offensive slump, but the Tigers will need the offense to return to form to get back to the SEC Championship. Missouri looks to improve in that area when it hosts struggling Vanderbilt on Saturday. The Commodores are coming off a bye week after narrowly avoiding an embarrassing loss when they held off FCS member Charleston Southern for a 21-20 victory.
Temple at Central Florida 5:00 PM ET
Brimming with confidence and boasting a four-game winning streak, Central Florida hopes to continue building momentum in league play when it hosts Temple on Saturday. The Knights have long forgotten a quick two-game skid to open the season and are neck-and-neck with East Carolina for first place in the American Athletic Conference. The improved Owls won’t be a pushover for UCF, but they will have to figure out a way to bounce back after a 21-point loss to Houston last week.
Arizona at Washington State 6:00 PM ET
Arizona hasn’t forgotten the dreadful feeling of losing to Washington State last season and the No. 15 Wildcats look to avoid another stumble when they visit the Cougars on Saturday. Arizona dropped a 24-17 decision to Washington State last season and losing again would serve as a crushing blow to its hopes of winning the Pac-12 South. The Wildcats have just one conference loss as do USC, Arizona State and Utah in a bunched-up division that also includes two-loss UCLA.
Syracuse at Clemson 7:00 PM ET
With a resurgent defense that has allowed a total of 30 points in three games this month, No. 20 Clemson hopes to suffocate Syracuse when the schools meet on the Tigers' home field Saturday evening. The Tigers gave up 35 points in a win over North Carolina in late September but since have shut down North Carolina State, Lousiville and Boston College in extending their winning streak to four games. Clemson gave up 263 total yards in last week's 17-13 victory over Boston College.
Mississippi at Louisiana State 7:15 PM ET
Mississippi's dream season rolls into Baton Rouge, La., on Saturday as the third-ranked Rebels face a tough road test at No. 23 LSU. The Rebels are off to their best start since 1962 and are aiming for only the second 8-0 start in program history. Meanwhile, LSU has knocked off at least one top-10 opponent at Tiger Stadium in each of the past four seasons and has chances to do so each of the next two games with No. 4 Alabama visiting on Nov. 8.
South Carolina at Auburn 7:30 PM ET
In its quest to get into the College Football Playoff, No. 6 Auburn has no room for error after a loss to Mississippi State in its last game, needing to run the table to get into the four-team field. So the Tigers must take every opponent seriously, starting with visiting South Carolina on Saturday, despite a trip to Mississippi looming just a week away. The Gamecocks snapped a two-game losing streak with a rout of Furman last week, but coach Steve Spurrier's squad needs a lot of improvement to
Alabama at Tennessee 7:30 PM ET
Tennessee will be looking for its first win against Alabama since 2006 when the Vols host the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide in an SEC clash Saturday. Stopping Amari Cooper would be a good start for Tennessee, as the speedy receiver has hauled in 62 passes for 908 yards and seven touchdowns - putting him in the middle of the Heisman Trophy conversation. Alabama quarterback Blake Sims has done a fine job hitting his targets, completing 66.5 percent of his passes this season.
Ohio State at Penn State 8:00 PM ET
To say that Ohio State enters this Saturday’s game at Penn State with all the momentum would be a giant understatement. The 12th-ranked Buckeyes have outscored their opponents 224-69 during their four-game win streak while setting a team record with four consecutive games of 50 or more points. Freshman quarterback J.T. Barrett has bounced back from a Week 2 loss to Virginia Tech with 1,170 passing yards, 17 touchdowns and one interception over the past four games.
Southern California at Utah 10:00 PM ET
One of the more intriguing matchups of the weekend will take place Saturday, when No. 19 Utah hosts No. 21 USC in a key Pac-12 clash. The Utes lead the nation in sacks (33), sacks per game (5.5) and tackles for loss per contest (10.2), while the Trojans feature one of the country's top quarterbacks in Cody Kessler, who threw for a school-record seven touchdowns in last weekend’s blowout of Colorado. The matchup also features the two most productive running backs in the conference.
Arizona State at Washington 10:45 PM ET
Arizona State quarterback Mike Bercovici has gone 2-1 as a starter over the last three games, but senior Taylor Kelly is expected to get the nod Saturday when the 14th-ranked Sun Devils visit Washington. Kelly, who has been out since breaking his foot against Colorado on Sept. 13, is practicing with the first team this week and appears ready to reclaim his starting job. Kelly accounted for 352 yards and four touchdowns in Arizona State’s 53-24 win over the Huskies last season.
