Preview Roundups
December 13, 2016
Tennessee Tech at Tennessee 7:00 PM ET
Tennessee just missed the opportunity for a major upset and now the Volunteers want to make sure they aren't the upset victims when they host Tennessee Tech in Tuesday's nonconference game. Tennessee led by as many as 15 points while leading then-No. 5 North Carolina for most of the way on Sunday before being overtaken down the stretch and suffering a 73-71 setback.
Texas Southern at Cincinnati 7:00 PM ET
Cincinnati looks to get back on track after a disappointing performance when it hosts Texas Southern on Tuesday to open a three-game homestand before American Athletic Conference play begins. The 23rd-ranked Bearcats shot 40 percent from the field and missed 20 of their 26 attempts from 3-point range in a 75-65 loss at Butler to end a five-game winning streak.
South Carolina State at Clemson 7:00 PM ET

Clemson aims for its fifth straight victory when it wraps up a five-game homestand Tuesday against South Carolina State. The Tigers won consecutive games by 40 or more points for the first time since the 2009-10 season.

Temple at Villanova 7:00 PM ET
The Big 5 is a generally competitive round-robin played annually among the Philadelphia schools. However, Villanova has turned this series into a laugher in recent years and the top-ranked Wildcats look to sweep their city rivals Tuesday when they host Temple.
North Carolina Central at Louisiana State 9:00 PM ET
LSU returns to the court after a 14-day break for finals, looking to build on some momentum when it hosts North Carolina Central for a nonconference tilt on Tuesday. The Tigers knocked off previously unbeaten Houston by 19 points in their last game before the break, while the Eagles are coming off a three-point loss to Coastal Carolina over the weekend.
Monmouth-NJ at Memphis 9:00 PM ET
Memphis, which Tuesday hosts a Monmouth squad that has won seven straight games, needs sophomore Dedric Lawson to stay out of foul trouble and on the court if the Tigers are to continue to rack up the wins. One game after scoring only eight points in a loss because of early foul trouble, Lawson exploded for 24 points, 10 rebounds and eight blocked shots in 40 minutes against UAB to lead the Tigers to their seventh victory.
Central Arkansas at Michigan 9:00 PM ET
Michigan looks to bounce back from one of its worst defensive displays in recent memory when it begins a three-game homestand against Central Arkansas on Tuesday. The Wolverines had surrendered 60 or fewer points in five games this season but allowed the most in a single game since 2001 in the 102-84 setback to second-ranked UCLA to fall for only the second time in 53 games when scoring 80 or more points under John Beilein.
Montana at Oregon 10:00 PM ET
With three games remaining before Oregon opens Pac-12 play against star-studded UCLA, the 22nd-ranked Ducks know the time for experimenting is almost done. Coach Dana Altman looks to fine-tune his rotation on Tuesday as the Ducks face visiting Montana, which was picked to finish second in the Big Sky preseason media poll.
