Towson at Georgetown 12:00 PM ET
Georgetown looks to halt its two-game skid when it hosts Towson in the BB&T Classic at the Verizon Center in Washington. The Hoyas opened the Battle 4 Atlantis with a 66-65 overtime victory over Florida before falling to No. 4 Wisconsin in the semifinals and Butler in the third-place game - with all three contests decided in the final minute. Georgetown hopes to take care of business Sunday without peeking ahead to the mouthwatering matchup with No. 11 Kansas on Wednesday.
Colorado at Georgia 12:00 PM ET
Colorado guard Askia Booker found his shooting stroke in the last two games and caught fire from beyond the arc. The senior guard will try to lead the Buffaloes to a fourth straight victory when they visit Georgia on Sunday. Colorado’s lone loss came in its only true road game at Wyoming on Nov. 22, when Booker was limited to eight points on 2-of-9 shooting in 21 minutes.
Wis.-Milwaukee at DePaul 2:00 PM ET
DePaul has some reason for optimism in the Big East this season thanks to transfer Myke Henry and the continued maturation of Tommy Hamilton IV. The Blue Demons will try to secure their fourth consecutive victory when they host Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Sunday. DePaul finished last in the first year of the new Big East in 2013-14 and has not posted a winning record since 2006-07.
Tulsa at Arkansas-Little Rock 3:00 PM ET
Arkansas-Little Rock looks to improve to 5-0 at home this season when it hosts Tulsa on Sunday afternoon. The Golden Hurricane comes in off a big win, knocking off Creighton at home on Wednesday to snap a two-game losing streak. All but one of Tulsa's wins have come at home, with the only other victory coming in a neutral-court game against Auburn in Las Vegas.
Radford at Virginia Tech 3:00 PM ET
The up-and-down early season is going as anticipated for Buzz Williams and Virginia Tech, which plays host to Radford on Sunday. As the team makes an adjustment to its first-year coach, the Hokies won back-to-back contests against Miami (Ohio) and Morgan State before losing a 61-58 seesaw battle to Penn State in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge in which Virginia Tech’s eight-point second-half lead evaporated.
East Carolina at North Carolina 3:00 PM ET
East Carolina coach and former Tar Heel Jeff Lebo better have his team prepared when it visits No. 12 North Carolina on Sunday. Tar Heels coach Roy Williams wasn't happy with his team's 60-55 loss at home to Iowa on Wednesday so he'll have his team ready to go against the Pirates. "They were just so much more aggressive going after the ball on the offensive boards. It’s very frustrating," Williams said. "[Iowa] wanted it more than we did and that’s a sorry thing to say."
California at Nevada 4:00 PM ET
Following a win in a double-overtime thriller, California will play its last road game before a month at home when it visits Nevada on Sunday. The Golden Bears, whose next road game after the visit to Reno is Jan. 7 at USC, needed two extra sessions to get past Montana 78-76 on Wednesday. Tyrone Wallace had 22 points and 15 rebounds for his third double-double this season in a 46-minute effort that helped California improve to 4-0 at home.
Mississippi at Oregon 4:00 PM ET
Oregon puts its 11-game home winning streak on the line Sunday against Ole Miss in a non-conference matchup between two teams that are off to a solid start. The Ducks are 5-0 at home this season with all five victories coming by double figures, most recently a 94-63 rout of Concordia on Wednesday. Oregon overcame 5-of-26 shooting from 3-point range in that contest in addition to a disappointing 5-of-12 connection rate from the foul line.
Arkansas at Clemson 5:00 PM ET
Arkansas looks to bounce back from its first loss when the 21st-ranked Razorbacks face another tough road test Sunday at Clemson. The Razorbacks are after their first 7-1 start since the 2010-11 campaign. The Tigers had a three-game winning streak snapped with a 69-64 loss to Rutgers on Monday in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Utah St. at Southern California 5:00 PM ET
A young USC team is beginning to mature for coach Andy Enfield and the Trojans look to extend their win streak to four when they host Utah State on Sunday. Freshman Jordan McLaughlin, who recorded 18 points in the 77-61 victory over Loyola Marymount on Wednesday, leads USC in scoring and is followed closely by four sophomores on a balanced offense. The Trojans hope to avenge last season’s 78-65 loss to the Aggies when they shot 36.9 percent in Enfield’s debut.
West Virginia at Northern Kentucky 6:00 PM ET
Facing No. 17 West Virginia wasn't going to be a fun day for Northern Kentucky in the first place, but playing the Mountaineers after they've suffered their first loss of the season could be even worse. Bob Huggins has likely been all over his team after it blew a 14-point second-half lead and fell to LSU on Thursday, so heading into Sunday's game with the Norse, West Virginia will be quite fired up to make its coach happy.
Eastern Kentucky at Kentucky 6:00 PM ET
Some basketball fans and members of the media questioned why Willie Cauley-Stein would return for his junior season at Kentucky. After performances like the one he authored against Texas on Friday, the critics are starting to understand. Fresh off arguably the best game of his collegiate career, Cauley-Stein will aim to lead the top-ranked Wildcats to a ninth straight victory to open the season Sunday against visiting Eastern Kentucky.
San Diego at UCLA 7:00 PM ET
UCLA will try to avoid a repeat of what happened the last time it hosted San Diego at Pauley Pavilion when the teams meet again Sunday afternoon. The ranked Bruins were knocked off by the Toreros in the 2002 season opener, opening the door for the first losing season at UCLA in 54 years and marking the end of Steve Lavin’s seven-year coaching tenure. UCLA hasn’t had any such hiccups so far this season, soundly beating all the underdogs it has faced.
Creighton at Nebraska 7:00 PM ET
Nebraska coach Tim Miles pulls no punches when the topic of playing in-state rival Creighton at home Sunday is brought up. “We were all embarrassed,” Miles told reporters referring to the Cornhuskers scoring only eight of the first 46 points en route to a 82-67 loss last year in Omaha. “We’ve got a lot to prove in this rivalry to make it a rivalry – like trying to win a game on occasion.”
San Diego St. at Washington 9:00 PM ET
Washington's perfect record will be put to the test when No. 14 San Diego State visits Sunday. The Huskies are 6-0 for the first time since the 2006-07 campaign and they are playing at home for the first time since Nov. 14. The Aztecs defeated Washington last season and are 6-1 this season, the defeat coming against Arizona in the Maui Invitational championship game.
