Preview Roundups
November 21, 2015
North Florida at Louisville 12:00 PM ET
Louisville is the nation’s second-winningest program during the past five years, and facing the Cardinals on their home court in November has proven to be an impossible challenge for opponents the past quarter century. North Florida visits Louisville on Saturday in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational trying to become the first team in 24 years to beat the Cardinals at home in November, a streak extended to 36 in a row thanks to two dominant Louisville routs to open 2015-16.
Old Dominion at Purdue 12:00 PM ET
No. 23 Purdue and Old Dominion each flexed their muscles against overmatched competition in the campus-site portion of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament. Both teams figure to receive a much stiffer test when they face each other on Saturday in a Naismith Bracket semifinal matchup in Uncasville, Conn.
North Carolina at Northern Iowa 2:00 PM ET

Northern Iowa has never hosted a top-ranked team, but that changes when the Panthers take on No. 1 North Carolina on Saturday. The Tar Heels look to continue their early-season dominance as they make their first road trip of the season.

South Dakota State at Texas Christian 2:00 PM ET

Five players scored in double figures as TCU beat Houston Baptist on Thursday night for its 20th straight non-conference victory. The Horned Frogs go for No. 21 when they host South Dakota State on Saturday.

Massachusetts Lowell at Notre Dame 2:00 PM ET
Notre Dame hosts its third straight game Saturday, putting its No. 18 national ranking on the line against UMass Lowell. The River Hawks are riding momentum sparked by freshman Isaac White's three-point play with 1.2 seconds left that pulled out an 87-84 win over Sacred Heart on Nov. 18.

Florida at St. Joseph's 2:30 PM ET
Florida lacked any hint of offensive crispness in its opening win, but responded with its highest-scoring performance in nearly four years in its last time out. The Gators continue their transition under new coach Mike White on Saturday when they square off against Saint Joseph’s in a Naismith Bracket semifinal game of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off tournament in Uncasville, Conn.
Pennsylvania at Washington 3:00 PM ET
Freshman forward Marquese Chriss is showing signs of being the standout player Washington needs as the Huskies enter Saturday's contest against visiting Pennsylvania. Chriss is averaging 20.5 points through two games and exploded for 29 points and 10 rebounds in Washington's 100-67 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Thursday.
Emporia State at Wichita St. 3:00 PM ET

Wichita State coach Gregg Marshall takes another shot at his 400th career victory when his Shockers host in-state foe Emporia State on Saturday. Marshall was denied the milestone in a 77-67 loss at Tulsa on Tuesday but looks to get his team back on track with its 34th consecutive home victory.

N.C. Asheville at Texas A&M 4:00 PM ET
Many teams use the nonconference schedule to settle on rotations and establish a consistent offense, but Texas A&M has clearly accelerated the process. The Aggies are averaging an SEC-high 99.7 points heading into Saturday’s contest against visiting UNC Asheville, which was picked to finish seventh in the 11-team Big South Conference preseason poll.

Central Arkansas at Rutgers 5:00 PM ET
Rutgers looks to recover from a demoralizing loss when it hosts Central Arkansas in the opening round of the MGM Grand Men Who Speak Up Main Event on Saturday. The Scarlet Knights looked very much like the team that Sports Illustrated predicted would be the worst from a BCS conference as they squandered a 16-point lead down the stretch in the 61-59 loss to St. John's in the inaugural Gavitt Tipoff Games on Thursday.
Oregon St. at UC Santa Barbara 5:00 PM ET
Oregon State seeks its first 4-0 start since 2011 when it visits UC Santa Barbara on Saturday. The Beavers are 3-0 for a second consecutive year under coach Wayne Tinkle after beating Rice 77-69 on the road Thursday.

Virginia Tech will have the historical upper hand when it hosts Virginia Military Institute on Saturday. The contest marks the 133rd time the two schools have met on a basketball court, and Virginia Tech is 54-10 at home against VMI.
Boston U at South Florida 7:00 PM ET
Off to its worst start since 2007-08, USF aims to avoid its fourth straight loss to open the season when it hosts Boston University as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic on Saturday. Brown at Providence 7:00 PM ET
Kris Dunn has been dominant in one game for Providence and bottled up in another, but the Friars have found a way to win both contests. Dunn seeks a measure of consistency and Providence eyes a bit of revenge when it hosts cross-town rival Brown on Saturday.
Elon University at Syracuse 7:00 PM ET
Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim rarely minces words regarding his team's shortcomings, and the 71-year-old coach has left no doubt what his team needs to work on heading into Saturday's home date with Elon. "We have to be better rebounding the ball," Boeheim said emphatically after his team was dominated on the glass by St. Bonaventure on Tuesday.
NC-Greensboro at Central Florida 7:00 PM ET
UCF is still looking for its first win, coming off a pair of close losses, as it hosts UNC Greenboro on Saturday night. The Spartans are 2-0, though those victories came against Division III Greensboro College and Division II Chowan.

Florida A&M at Houston 8:00 PM ET

Houston will continue to shuffle combinations of players when the new-look Cougars host Florida A&M on Saturday. Injuries limited last year's roster but this season's depth gives second-year coach Kelvin Sampson plenty of options.

Chattanooga at Illinois 8:30 PM ET
Illinois coach John Groce feels like his team is making some progress in the early going of the season, but the Illini would like it to show up in a win when they host Chattanooga in Springfield, Ill., on Saturday. Illinois is playing its home games in Springfield – about an hour away from Champaign -- while their on-campus arena is being remodeled.
Mount St. Mary's at Gonzaga 9:00 PM ET
No. 12 Gonzaga rolled to a victory in its first full game of the season and looks to record another win when it hosts Mount St. Mary's on Saturday. The Bulldogs had their original opener against Pittsburgh in Okinawa canceled at the half due to slippery floor conditions and followed up with a 91-52 trouncing of Northern Arizona.
New Mexico at Southern California 10:30 PM ET
USC will try for its first 3-0 start to a season since 2000-01 when it hosts unbeaten New Mexico on Saturday night. The Trojans, now in their third season under Andy Enfield, are finally starting to resemble the high-flying, up-tempo "Dunk City" squads that Enfield coached at Florida Gulf Coast before coming to Troy after leading the Eagles to the 2013 Sweet 16 with upset wins over No. 2 seed Georgetown and No. 7 seed San Diego State.
