Pittsburgh at Virginia 1:00 PM ET
Top-seeded Virginia plays a semifinal game in the ACC tournament for the first time since 1995 when it battles fifth seed Pittsburgh on Saturday in Greensboro, N.C. The Cavaliers showed why they lead the nation in scoring defense and won the league’s regular-season title, getting 20 points from Joe Harris in a workmanlike 64-51 victory over Florida State on Friday. Virginia will be tested by the Panthers, who have averaged 82 points in their first two ACC tournament games.
Tennessee at Florida 1:00 PM ET
Fourth-seeded Tennessee, in search of its first SEC tournament title since 1979, faces its biggest obstacle when it takes on No. 1 Florida in the SEC tournament semifinals on Saturday in Atlanta. The regular-season champion Gators have won a school-record 24 straight games, including a 72-49 victory over Missouri in Friday's quarterfinals. Tennessee, still regarded as an NCAA tournament bubble team in some projections, defeated No. 13 seed South Carolina 59-44 in its quarterfinal contest.
Ohio St. at Michigan 1:40 PM ET
Michigan appeared to feel the pressure of being the top seed in the Big Ten tournament while Ohio State showed the resolve of a team that has made five straight conference title games. On Saturday, the arch-rivals face off in the semifinals in Indianapolis after the Wolverines blew a 13-point second-half lead Friday before rallying against an Illinois team they defeated by 31 points 10 days earlier. Jordan Morgan hit the go-ahead basket with 7.9 seconds left to give Michigan a 64-63 win.
N.C. State at Duke 3:00 PM ET
North Carolina State has put together two victories in the ACC tournament to bolster its chances of reaching the NCAA tournament and the seventh-seeded Wolfpack are two wins away from an improbable conference championship. League player of the year T.J. Warren leads North Carolina State into Saturday’s semifinal matchup against No. 3 seed Duke after grinding out a 66-63 victory over second seed Syracuse. The Blue Devils blew a double-digit lead before surviving against Clemson 63-62.
Georgia at Kentucky 3:25 PM ET
Kentucky looks to advance to the final of the SEC tournament for the fourth time in the last five years when it faces Georgia on Saturday in Atlanta. The second-seeded Wildcats are coming off an impressive 85-67 victory over LSU and hope to take care of business once more to punch their ticket to Sunday's championship game. "That was our game, we got after it," coach John Calipari told reporters. "Let's see if we can continue in this path."
George Washington at VCU 4:00 PM ET
Virginia Commonwealth is tough enough to score on thanks to a smothering defense that led the nation in steals during the regular season, which makes the availability of George Washington second-leading scorer Kethan Savage such a key storyline heading into their Atlantic 10 tournament semifinal Saturday in Brooklyn, N.Y. Savage, a 6-3 sophomore guard, went down with a fracture in his left foot four games into conference play and it was announced Jan. 21 that he would be out 6-to-8 weeks.
Michigan St at Wisconsin 4:05 PM ET
Wisconsin proved it was past its midseason lull when it handed Michigan State a heartbreaking two-point setback Feb. 9. The Spartans hope a win over the Badgers in the Big Ten tournament semifinals in Indianapolis will do the same for them when they meet Saturday. Michigan State closed the season with losses in seven of its final 12 games, but enjoyed its largest margin of victory since mid-January in Friday’s 67-51 quarterfinal victory over Northwestern.
Connecticut at Louisville 6:00 PM ET
Russ Smith and Louisville appear to be hitting on all cylinders heading into Saturday's American Athletic Conference tournament final against Connecticut in Memphis, Tenn. Smith scored a school postseason-record 42 points in a 94-65 semifinal victory over Houston for the second-seeded Cardinals, who can claim their third straight conference tournament title with a victory over the No. 4 seed Huskies.
UCLA at Arizona 6:00 PM ET
Arizona and UCLA have yet to be tested at the Pac-12 tournament, but that figures to change Saturday when the teams meet in the championship game in Las Vegas. The teams faced little resistance in their first two games, with top-seeded Arizona routing Utah (71-39) and Colorado (63-43) while No. 2 seed UCLA cruised past Oregon (82-63) and Stanford (84-59). The teams met once during the regular season in Los Angeles on Jan. 9, when Arizona held on for a 79-75 win.
New Mexico at San Diego St. 6:00 PM ET
The top two teams in the Mountain West square off for the conference tournament title when No. 7 San Diego State faces No. 20 New Mexico in Saturday’s championship game in Las Vegas. The top-seeded Aztecs and second-seeded Lobos split two regular-season matchups with each team winning in their vociferous home venues. San Diego State reached the title game by recording a 59-51 win over host UNLV while New Mexico posted a 70-67 victory over Boise State.
Providence at Creighton 8:30 PM ET
The good news for Providence is that the Friars are one victory from winning their first Big East tournament title since 1994. The bad news is that they are going up against No. 14 Creighton, which obliterated them a week ago behind Doug McDermott's career-high 45 points. The second-seeded Bluejays are on the verge of winning the tournament title in their first go-round after migrating from the Missouri Valley Conference, and all eyes will be on McDermott when the teams square off Saturday.
Baylor at Iowa St. 9:00 PM ET
Baylor has put forth an impressive tournament run and No. 16 Iowa State is also playing superbly as the two teams clash in Saturday’s Big 12 championship game in Kansas City. The seventh-seeded Bears will try for a fourth win in four days after rolling to a convincing 86-69 victory over Texas in the semifinals. The fourth-seeded Cyclones are in the tournament title game for the first time since 2000 after producing a solid 94-83 win over top-seeded Kansas.
