Cincinnati at Connecticut 11:00 AM ET
Red-hot Cincinnati seeks to match a season-high with its fifth straight win when it visits Connecticut on Saturday in American Athletic Conference action. The Bearcats have won five of their last six contests after losing in double overtime to Nebraska and interim coach Larry Davis has the team firing on all cylinders. "As a coach, when guys execute what you tried to teach them, that's the best feeling in the world," Davis told reporters after Tuesday's 69-48 win over East Carolina.
Georgetown at Providence 12:00 PM ET
Providence hosts Georgetown on Saturday, and the teams have relied on some unfamiliar faces of late to pick up critical Big East victories. John Thompson III tabbed four freshmen, including L.J. Peak and Tre Campbell, to lead his Hoyas to a recent win over Creighton, while Providence's Ed Cooley went deep into his bench to allow the Friars to collect their first road victory of the season against Butler.
Georgia Tech at Wake Forest 12:00 PM ET
Georgia Tech finds itself frustrated after two narrow losses to open ACC play, and it will see an equally aggravated squad when it visits Wake Forest on Saturday. The Demon Deacons had opportunities against two of the nation's top five teams the past week, falling by nine to No. 5 Louisville and eight to No. 2 Duke. “We’ve got to find ways to get the desired result that we want, and that’s a win,” Wake Forest coach Danny Manning told reporters after Wednesday’s 73-65 loss.
Ohio St. at Indiana 12:00 PM ET
Ohio State coach Thad Matta loved his team’s toughness in its first road win of the season, while Indiana coach Tom Crean couldn’t have been more displeased with his team’s most recent effort. The 20th-ranked Buckeyes – in the midst of playing four of five games away from home – continue that trek Saturday when they visit the Hoosiers. Ohio State let a 12-point second-half lead slip away Tuesday at Minnesota before getting a jumper from Marc Loving with 5.6 seconds left in overtime to win 74-72.
Clemson at Pittsburgh 12:00 PM ET
Pittsburgh will try to present coach Jamie Dixon with his 300th coaching victory Saturday when the Panthers host Clemson in ACC play. Dixon brings a 299-100 coaching record into the contest, including a 61-60 overtime victory at Boston College on Tuesday. Pitt rallied from a 10-point deficit 53-43 with 3:04 left in regulation to send the contest into overtime, when guard Josh Newkirk won it with a layup with 5.5 seconds to go.
Minnesota at Michigan 1:00 PM ET
Two teams that appear to be headed in opposite directions will hook up on Saturday when Michigan hosts Minnesota in a Big Ten battle. The Wolverines have rolled off three wins in their last four games following a four-game losing streak, leaving coach John Beilein singing his team's praises. "We are all proud of them," Beilein told reporters after Tuesday's 73-64 win at Penn State. "They should be proud of themselves."
Kentucky at Texas A&M 1:00 PM ET
Top-ranked Kentucky looked unstoppable for most of its non-conference slate, but it heads to Texas A&M on Saturday after a close call in its SEC opener. “The SEC is tougher than what people think,” Kentucky guard Aaron Harrison told reporters after the Wildcats needed overtime to fend off Ole Miss 89-86 on Tuesday. The Aggies had a less-inspiring start to conference play, falling 65-44 at Alabama as leading scorer Jalen Jones sat out with a sprained ankle.
St. Joseph's at VCU 2:00 PM ET
VCU is a program known for causing havoc on defense, but this year's squad is finally starting to live up to its billing heading into Saturday's game against visiting Saint Joseph's. After struggling defensively over their first nine games, the No. 21 Rams have rounded into form just in time for Atlantic 10 play and come into this game riding a seven-game win streak.
Alabama at Tennessee 2:00 PM ET
After a successful Southeast Conference opener, Alabama hits the road for the first time since Dec. 16 when the Crimson Tide play Tennessee on Saturday. Alabama completed a 5-0 homestead – it's longest since the 2008-09 campaign - with an outstanding defensive effort in a 65-44 triumph over Texas A&M on Tuesday. The Volunteers also played some great defense in winning their conference opener, 61-47 at Mississippi State the following night.
Louisville at North Carolina 2:00 PM ET
Louisville coach Rick Pitino is no stranger to success, except when it comes to defeating North Carolina. The Hall-of-Fame coach will try to get his first-ever win against the 17th-ranked Tar Heels on Saturday when his fifth-ranked Cardinals visit Chapel Hill. Pitino has a decorated resume that includes 709 career victories, although none of them have come against North Carolina, which improved to 5-0 all-time against his Kentucky and Louisville teams with a 93-84 win last year.
Seton Hall at Creighton 2:15 PM ET
No. 19 Seton Hall looks to rebound from its first Big East loss when it visits struggling Creighton on Saturday. Seton Hall gained its highest national ranking since the 2000-01 season after beating St. John’s and Villanova, but dropped a 69-58 decision at Xavier on Wednesday as leading scorer Sterling Gibbs went 3-for-11 from the field. The Bluejays have dropped their first three conference games for the first time since 1993-94, when they were in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Maryland at Purdue 2:30 PM ET
No. 9 Maryland looks to get back on the winning track when it visits Purdue on Saturday. The Terrapins rattled off seven consecutive victories to move into the Top 10 for the first time since 2003 before falling 64-57 to Illinois on Wednesday, their first conference defeat since joining the Big Ten. "We've been listening to everybody telling us how good we are," coach Mark Turgeon told reporters. "Maybe this will refocus us and we'll play better on Saturday."
Washington St. at Washington 3:00 PM ET
Washington's 11-0 start is nothing more than a distant memory, and it must now contend with an in-state rival who is hoping to build off a big win. The sliding Huskies look to avoid their first four-game losing streak in nearly two years when they welcome Washington State to Seattle on Saturday in the 279th meeting between the programs. Following a home loss to Stony Brook, Washington dropped its first two Pac-12 games on the road, including a 68-60 overtime loss at Stanford on Sunday.
Tulsa at Temple 3:00 PM ET
Riding a six-game win streak that includes victories over Kansas and Connecticut, Temple looks to remain perfect in league play when it hosts Tulsa on Saturday. The Owls thumped the Jayhawks 77-52 and outlasted the Huskies 57-53 in overtime as part of their impressive run, which continued Wednesday with a 64-56 triumph against Tulane. They shot 25.8 percent in the first half against the Green Wave before outscoring the hosts 39-29 after intermission.
Texas Tech at Kansas 3:00 PM ET
Sophomore guard Frank Mason III has an impressive streak to improve on and No. 13 Kansas looks for another Big 12 victory when it hosts Texas Tech on Saturday. Mason scored 11 points in Wednesday’s conference-opening win at Baylor to stretch his string of double-digit outings to 11, the school’s longest such streak since Ben McLemore scored in double figures in 13 games in 2012-13. The Red Raiders have lost four of their last five games, including their first two Big 12 contests.
Baylor at Texas Christian 4:00 PM ET
Teams that got off to impressive starts that are now in need of a win meet Saturday when No. 22 Baylor visits TCU. The Bears ran through their nonconference schedule with an 11-1 record but have stumbled against Oklahoma and Kansas in the first week of Big 12 Conference play. The Horned Frogs got off to a school-record 13-0 start before dropping contests against West Virginia and Kansas State.
DePaul at Villanova 4:00 PM ET
With JayVaughn Pinkston enduring a tough senior season, Daniel Ochefu has proved to be the savior for Villanova. The sixth-ranked Wildcats seek another strong performance out of their junior center when they host DePaul on Saturday. Ochefu, who averaged 5.7 points and 6.1 rebounds last season, has increased those figures to 10.3 and 9.0, respectively, including averages of 13.8 points and 13.5 rebounds in the last four contests.
Boston College at Miami-Florida 4:00 PM ET
Boston College and Miami will both be coming off difficult losses and still in search of their first ACC wins when they meet Saturday afternoon in South Florida. The Hurricanes will, at the very least, be well-rested, having gone a full week since an 89-80 double-overtime loss to No. 3 Virginia last Saturday. Head coach Jim Larranaga called the setback - which saw his team erase an 18-point halftime deficit before faltering down the stretch in both extra sessions - a "very painful" one.
Northern Iowa at Drake 4:00 PM ET
No. 23 Northern Iowa looks to solve its recent road woes when it travels to Des Moines to take on Drake on Saturday. The Panthers are a perfect 8-0 at the McLeod Center, but have dropped two straight on the road, including a 52-49 loss to Evansville in their Missouri Valley Conference opener on Jan. 1. Northern Iowa has won four of its last five games and sets it sights on avenging a 70-67 setback to the Bulldogs in their last meeting on Feb. 18, 2014.
Xavier at Butler 4:30 PM ET
Xavier looks for its seventh victory in nine games when it visits Butler in Saturday’s Big East contest. The Musketeers have a loss in conference play and that came on the road at DePaul, so they will be looking for a better effort in famed Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Bulldogs are typically a hard team to beat at home and were 7-0 in front of their fans this season until they fell 66-62 to Providence on Tuesday.
Vanderbilt at Arkansas 4:30 PM ET
No. 25 Arkansas is playing like a team ready to snap a six-year NCAA Tournament drought as it looks to extend its winning streak to seven games when Vanderbilt pays a visit on Saturday. The Razorbacks, who won 22 games last season to reach the NIT, opened their SEC campaign with a 79-75 victory at Georgia and are led by talented 6-11 forward Bobby Portis. Vanderbilt counters with 6-10 standout Damian Jones as it attempts to win its fifth straight game and seventh in its last eight contests.
South Carolina at Mississippi 5:00 PM ET
A pair of teams coming off narrow losses to open SEC play aim for their first victory of the conference season when Ole Miss hosts South Carolina on Saturday. The Gamecocks look to bounce back after having a seven-game winning streak snapped with a 72-68 home loss to Florida on Wednesday, while the Rebels are coming off an impressive performance in a losing effort after falling 89-86 in overtime at top-ranked Kentucky. Ole Miss has won 11 of 12 home meetings with South Carolina.
Arizona St. at Oregon 5:00 PM ET
Oregon had a six-game winning streak come to an end with a whimper and will try to avoid being swept at home by the Arizona schools when it hosts Arizona State on Saturday. The Ducks suffered an 80-62 loss to Arizona on Thursday and are having trouble matching their high-scoring ways from the pre-conference slate against Pac-12 opponents. The Sun Devils are trying to avoid being swept out of Oregon after falling at Oregon State on Thursday.
Texas at Oklahoma St. 5:00 PM ET
Texas coach Rick Barnes will be looking for the version of his team that battled top-ranked Kentucky when the No. 10 Longhorns travel to Oklahoma State on Saturday. Barnes said his team hasn't shown the same fire in the weeks since that Dec. 5 loss to the Wildcats and Monday's shocking 70-49 home loss to Oklahoma was just another example of his team's lack of effort. "Anybody can do it one time but great teams do it every night," Barnes told the media.
Virginia at Notre Dame 6:00 PM ET
Third-ranked Virginia is off to an historic start, but No. 12 Notre Dame will be a fierce obstacle when the Cavaliers visit South Bend on Saturday in ACC play. The Cavaliers have rolled off 14 consecutive victories for the school’s best start since going 23-0 in 1980-81 when legendary Ralph Sampson was leading the way. The Fighting Irish are off to their best start since the 1973-74 squad started 24-1 and have already equaled last season’s victory total.
Mississippi St. at Florida 7:00 PM ET
It is unclear whether starting forward Jon Horford will return to the Florida lineup when the Gators host Mississippi State on Saturday. Coach Billy Donovan suspended Horford and freshman walk-on guard Zach Hodskins for conduct detrimental to the team, and the pair did not make the trip to South Carolina for Florida's 72-68 victory in its SEC opener. The Gators have won four straight against the Bulldogs.
Missouri at Auburn 7:00 PM ET
Missouri will ride a little momentum - and some good fortunes - into Saturday's trip to Auburn. Missouri has won back-to-back games after consecutive losses to Illinois and Oklahoma State by a combined five points. "I'm just happy these guys can realize what hard word does," first-year coach Kim Anderson said after Thursday's overtime win against LSU.
Kansas St. at Oklahoma 7:00 PM ET
Oklahoma has a tough schedule to begin Big 12 play, but is not having any trouble working its way through. The 18th-ranked Sooners will try to stay perfect in conference play and earn their fifth straight victory overall when they host Kansas State on Saturday. The Wildcats ended a three-game slide by holding off TCU on Wednesday and will try to slow the pace and make use of a defense holding opponents to an average of 55.1 points in the last seven games.
Santa Clara at Gonzaga 8:00 PM ET
Gonzaga plays consecutive home games for the first time since opening the season with four in a row when it hosts Santa Clara on Saturday in a West Coast Conference contest. The No. 7 Bulldogs defeated San Francisco 88-57 on Thursday in its first game at the McCarthey Athletic Center since Dec. 15, prompting senior guard Kevin Pangos to tell reporters: "It was kind of relaxing. We were not in a bus, a hotel and back on a bus. It was peaceful, you could say.”
Iowa St. at West Virginia 8:00 PM ET
An early season showdown in the Big 12 is on tap when No. 16 Iowa State travels to Morgantown to take on No. 14 West Virginia on Saturday. Both teams are unbeaten in the early going of conference play and have three losses overall. It will be an interesting contrast in styles, with the Cyclones leading the Big 12 in scoring at 80.9 points per game, while the Mountaineers haven't allowed as much as 70 points since their only loss of the season against LSU on Dec. 4.
Georgia at Louisiana State 9:00 PM ET
After having its eight-game-winning streak snapped on Thursday, LSU looks to get back on track when it hosts Georgia in an SEC contest on Saturday night. The Tigers managed only two points in overtime while dropping their conference opener against Missouri 74-67. LSU continues to battle sloppy play as it ranks last in the SEC in turnovers, averaging more than 15 per game, and had 19 more miscues on Thursday.
