Nebraska at Maryland 12:00 PM ET
Nebraska opened Big Ten Conference play with a stunning road upset of Indiana, and seeks another signature victory on Sunday at Maryland. The Cornhuskers, who have not won their first two conference games since 2005-06, ended Indiana’s 26-game homecourt winning streak thanks to outstanding performances from guards Glynn Watson Jr. and Tai Webster.
Syracuse at Boston College 12:30 PM ET
Syracuse will look to move past the worst non-conference performance in school history when it travels to Boston College on Sunday for the ACC opener for both teams. While the Orange enter conference play with five losses for the first time ever, the Eagles fared even worse with six defeats.
St. John's at DePaul 2:00 PM ET
Chris Mullin has to wonder which St. John's team will show up Sunday when the Red Storm play a Big East game at DePaul. Will it be the team that lost to the likes of Delaware State and LIU Brooklyn or the club that trounced Syracuse and upset No. 13 Butler in the last 10 days?
Michigan at Iowa 2:15 PM ET
Michigan looks to win its fourth consecutive game when it opens Big Ten play on the road against Iowa on Sunday. The Wolverines closed out the non-conference portion of their schedule by trouncing Central Arkansas 97-53 and Maryland-Eastern Shore 98-49 before holding off Furman 68-62 to hand John Beilein his 750th career win, and they hope to ride the momentum to their first true road victory of the season.
Penn St. at Rutgers 2:30 PM ET
Rutgers and Penn State were both hoping to make statements to the rest of the Big Ten in their season openers. After both were blown out, each seeks to rebound on New Year’s Day when the Scarlet Knights host the Nittany Lions.
Providence at Butler 3:00 PM ET
Following an extremely difficult road trip to begin Big East play, No. 13 Butler will try to regain its footing when it hosts Providence in a conference affair on Sunday. The Bulldogs opened league action with a 76-73 loss at St. John's on Thursday before enduring an incredible scare when their flight home had a drop in cabin pressure, forcing players to put on oxygen masks and the plane to divert to Pittsburgh.
Minnesota at Purdue 4:30 PM ET
Caleb Swanigan is emerging as a legitimate national player of the year candidate, but Purdue has repeatedly proven it can be quite effective even when its opponent tries to take him away. The 15th-ranked Boilermakers eye an eighth straight victory Sunday when they host a Minnesota squad coming off a painful loss in its Big Ten opener.
Marquette at Seton Hall 4:30 PM ET
If Marquette hopes to come away from Sunday's Big East game at Seton Hall with a victory, it would be smart to follow the blueprint laid down by No. 10 Creighton. The Bluejays doubled and fronted forward Angel Delgado, forcing the Pirates into turnovers and perimeter shots in Wednesday's 89-75 loss.
Colorado at Utah 6:30 PM ET
Utah tries for its sixth straight victory over Colorado when it hosts the Buffaloes on Sunday in the Pac-12 opener for both teams, and the Utes' hopes hinge significantly on the health of Kyle Kuzma. The junior forward, who averages 14.4 points and a team-best 10.2 rebounds, suffered an ankle injury during the first offensive possession against San Francisco on Dec. 22, missed the rest of that game plus the next two and was a limited participant in Friday's practice.
Ohio St. at Illinois 7:00 PM ET
Ohio State will attempt to hand Illinois its second consecutive lopsided Big Ten loss when the Buckeyes open conference play on the road Sunday. The Fighting Illini stumbled badly in their Big Ten opener, losing 84-59 at Maryland on Tuesday, while Ohio State is playing its first game since Dec. 22.
Tulane at Cincinnati 7:00 PM ET
Cincinnati looks to move to 2-0 in American Athletic Conference action when the nation's 23rd-ranked team hosts Tulane on Sunday. The Bearcats won their final non-conference game with offense and proved last time out that they can win with defense as well.
Arizona at Stanford 8:00 PM ET
Arizona junior center Dusan Ristic is quietly becoming an offensive force for the 18th-ranked Wildcats, who have won six in a row heading into Sunday’s road game against Stanford. The 7-footer has scored in double-figures in seven of his last eight games and had a game-high 16 points Friday as Arizona opened Pac-12 play with a 67-62 win over California.
Washington St. at Washington 8:30 PM ET
Washington, which lost four straight games in the middle of nonconference play, brings a three-game winning streak into Sunday night's Pac-12 Conference opener with in-state rival Washington State. And the Huskies, sparked by one of the the nation's top freshmen in 6-foot-4 guard Markelle Fultz, believe they are making the strides needed to snap a five-year NCAA Tournament drought.
Arizona State at California 10:00 PM ET
Coming off the bench appears to suit Arizona State senior guard Torian Graham, who looks to continue his strong play Sunday as the Sun Devils visit California. Graham made five 3-pointers and recorded a career-best for the third straight game with 30 points in Friday’s 98-93 win over Stanford, while Cal opened Pac-12 play with a 67-62 loss to Arizona.
