49ers 19, Seahawks 17: Phil Dawson kicked a 22-yard field goal with 26 seconds left to lift San Francisco over visiting Seattle and tighten up the NFC West.

Colin Kaepernick went 15-for-29 for 175 yards and a touchdown while guiding the 49ers (9-4) on an 11-play, 76-yard drive over nearly six minutes to set up Dawson’s kick. Frank Gore ran for 110 yards, including a 51-yard scamper on the key fourth-quarter drive.

Russell Wilson passed for 199 yards and a touchdown but was intercepted by Eric Wright on the final play as the Seahawks (11-2) desperately tried to get into field-goal range. Marshawn Lynch rushed for 72 yards and a score for Seattle, which leads San Francisco by two games in the division with three weeks left.

Dawson kicked three first-half field goals to put the 49ers on top 9-7 before Wilson hit Luke Willson with a 39-yard TD pass to give Seattle the lead. Kaepernick pieced together a 72-yard drive in response, capped by an 8-yard pass to Vernon Davis with six seconds left in the half that gave San Francisco a 16-14 advantage.

Kaepernick was intercepted at the Seahawks’ 1-yard line in the third quarter and Seattle finally broke through the 49ers' defense for a go-ahead 31-yard field goal with 6:20 left in the game. Kaepernick made sure to bleed the clock on the final drive before Dawson’s go-ahead kick.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Seattle, which had a seven-game winning streak come to an end, still controls its own destiny for the top seed in the NFC. … The 49ers have won three straight and are one game up on the Arizona Cardinals for the No. 6 spot in the NFC. … Seahawks WR Golden Tate made six catches for 65 yards and set up the third-quarter field goal with a 38-yard punt return.
