The Jacksonville Jaguars had the luxury of owning a Marcedes.

Tight end Marcedes Lewis caught two touchdown passes and Kassim Osgood’s 24-yard touchdown reception with 8:06 remaining in the fourth quarter lifted the Jaguars to a 24-17 victory over the Denver Broncos on Sunday.

Lewis caught a 21-yard touchdown pass from David Garrard with 58 seconds left in the first half to make it 7-0. He then gave the Jaguars a 14-7 lead with a 10-yard reception on the team's opening drive of the second half for his only other catch of the game.

Jacksonville (1-0) sealed the victory when Daryl Smith intercepted Kyle Orton at the 50-yard line with 46 seconds left.

Orton finished 21-of-33 for 295 yards and a touchdown as the Broncos saw their three-game winning streak in season openers come to an end.

Garrard finished 16-of-21 for 170 yards for the Jaguars, who snapped a three-game losing streak in season openers.

Knowshon Moreno had a one-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for Denver (0-1).

Maurice Jones-Drew had 98 yards rushing for the Jaguars.
