Michael Pratt threw three touchdown passes to lead visiting Tulane to a 38-21 victory over East Carolina in an American Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon in Greenville, N.C.

Pratt completed 22 of 34 for 216 yards as the Green Wave (4-4, 2-4) won their second straight after a three-game losing streak. The freshman has 12 touchdown passes in five starts.

Two of his touchdown passes went to Duece Watts, who also caught two touchdown passes in a 38-3 victory against Temple a week earlier. Cameron Carroll added 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Holton Ahlers passed for 351 yards and three touchdowns for the Pirates (1-5, 1-4). Blake Proehl had 13 catches for 182 yards and two touchdowns.

Freshman Rahjai Harris' streak of three consecutive 100-yard rushing games ended as he finished with 27 yards on 13 carries.

Tulane's defense, which had allowed more than 1,700 yards during its three-game losing streak, limited East Carolina to 386 total yards, including 35 rushing. The Pirates converted just 4 of 19 on third and fourth downs.

Carroll, who had his second-highest rushing total of the season, ran 48 yards for a touchdown that gave the Green Wave a 28-7 lead midway through the third quarter.

Merek Glover's 42-yard field goal increased the lead to 31-7 at the end of the third quarter.

Ja'Quan McMillian's interception of Pratt, the only turnover in the game, set up Ahler's 30-yard touchdown pass to Blake Proehl. Ahler connected with Tyler Snead for a two-point conversion that cut the Green Wave's lead to 31-15 with 10:37 remaining.

Carroll added a 28-yard score, his 10th rushing touchdown of the season, before Ahler and Proehl connected on a 75-yard touchdown pass.

Tulane scored first as Pratt threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Watts in the first quarter.

Ahlers' 10-yard touchdown pass to Snead pulled East Carolina even at the end of the first quarter.

Pratt broke the tie when he threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Tyrick James and he teamed with Watts on a 5-yarder with 38 seconds left in the second quarter to give the Green Wave a 21-7 halftime lead.
