Georgia Tech freshman Wesley Wells kicked four field goals, including a 40-yarder in overtime, to help the Yellow Jackets to a 30-27 win over Virginia on Saturday at Atlanta.

Georgia Tech couldn't move the ball on its first possession in overtime and settled for a field goal. Virginia's Brian Delaney missed a 35-yarder wide left to give Tech the win.

Georgia Tech (7-4, 5-3 ACC) won its fourth straight game. Quarterback TaQuon Marshall led the team with 107 yards rushing. Wells had field goals of 28, 28, 48 and 40 yards.

Virginia (7-4, 4-3) was led by quarterback Bryce Perkins, who completed 21 of 26 passes for 217 yards and one touchdown and rushed 16 times for 73 yards and one touchdown.

Wells kicked a career-long 48-yard field goal with 1:04 remaining to put Georgia Tech ahead, but Virginia drove to the Tech 14 and tied the game with one second remaining on Delaney's 32-yard field goal to force overtime.

Georgia Tech took the opening kickoff and grabbed a 3-0 lead on Wells' 28-yard field goal.

Virginia answered by driving 74 yards and went ahead 7-3 when Perkins threw to Hasise Dubois for a 13-yard touchdown.

Georgia Tech appeared to have gained the momentum after Pressley Harvin III punted the Cavaliers to the 1. On second down, Perkins was stopped in the end zone by Brant Mitchell and fumbled it out of bounds for a safety after a hard hit from nose tackle Brandon Adams. Georgia Tech freshman Juanyeh Thomas then returned the free kick 77 yards for a touchdown, putting the Yellow Jackets ahead 13-7.

Virginia had to summon reserve quarterback Brennan Armstrong, who threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Joe Reed.

Georgia Tech regained the lead, 16-14, when Wells kicked another 28-yard field goal.

Perkins, his left ankle heavily taped, returned to the game and led a 10-play, 77-yard touchdown drive. He finished it with a 9-yard scoring run, and Virginia led 21-16 at halftime.

Tech went ahead 24-21 in the third quarter on an 11-play drive that started when a punt accidentally hit Virginia's Darrius Bratton and was recovered by Tech's Victor Alexander at the 41. Jerry Howard scored on a 3-yard run, and Clinton Lynch ran for a two-point conversion with 12:30 remaining.

But Virginia drove 70 yards in 14 plays to tie the game at 24-24 with 4:31 remaining.
