Anu Solomon passed for 294 yards and five touchdowns as the visiting Wildcats routed the Cougars in Pac-12 play.

Terris Jones-Grigsby rushed for 107 yards on 13 carries as Arizona (6-1, 3-1) continued its strong start. Cayleb Jones had seven receptions for 78 yards and also returned an onside kick for a touchdown and middle linebacker Scooby Wright had three sacks and forced three fumbles.

Connor Halliday was 56-of-79 for 489 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions for Washington State (2-6, 1-4). Vince Mayle tied a school record with 14 receptions for 145 yards and a touchdown, Isiah Myers scored twice while catching six passes for 95 yards and Jamal Morrow caught 11 balls for 70 yards.

Arizona bolted to a 24-0 first-quarter lead as Davonte’ Neal returned a punt 81 yards for a score and Solomon hit Neal and Nate Phillips for scores. Jones’ scoring reception made it a 31-point margin with 8:56 left in the half before Washington State rattled off 16 straight points – led by Halliday’s two scoring tosses to Myers – to get back within 15 points.

Nick Wilson’s short run and Solomon’s TD throws to Austin Hill and Trey Griffey boosted the Wildcats’ lead to 52-16 late in the third quarter. After two Washington State touchdowns, Davis recovered an onside kick and went 44 yards for a score to make it 59-30.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wright raised his season sack total to nine with his latest stellar effort. … WR River Cracraft, who had two catches against Arizona, set the school mark of 14 receptions on Oct. 10 against Stanford. … Solomon also threw five touchdown passes against California on Sept. 20.
