Miami (Fla.) 41, Florida A&M 7: Duke Johnson ran for 97 yards - all in the first half - and freshman quarterback Brad Kaaya threw for two touchdowns in the host Hurricanes' rout of the Rattlers.

Johnson broke off a 55-yard run and scored on a 1-yard plunge as Miami (1-1) built a four-touchdown lead in the second quarter. Kaaya, who threw for only 143 yards with two interceptions in a disappointing 31-13 loss to Louisville on Monday, was 12-of-22 for 177 yards and two interceptions for the struggling Hurricanes, who had lost five of their previous seven games after starting the 2013 campaign 7-0.

John Boston recovered an errant long snap punt in the end zone for Florida A&M's lone TD. Damien Fleming completed 6-of-14 passes for 89 yards for the Rattlers (0-2), who dropped their 22nd consecutive game against a Division I school since beating the Hurricanes in 1979.

Kaaya threw four yards to Phillip Dorsett for the opening score on the Hurricanes' first drive and again found Dorsett on a 32-yard scoring play that provided a 28-0 cushion. Meanwhile, Miami's defense limited the Rattlers to three first downs and 61 yards in the first half.

Matt Goudis kicked two field goals in the second half and Trayone Gray scored on a 10-yard run in the fourth. Florida A&M only could manage 114 total yards and five first downs while averaging less than one yard per carry.
