No. 9 Oklahoma State 49, No. 4 Baylor 17: Clint Chelf threw for a career-high 370 yards and accounted for four scores while Kye Staley tallied his first two career rushing touchdowns as the host Cowboys routed the Bears.

The Cowboys, who moved into sole possession of first place, can clinch their 11th conference title Dec. 7 with a home win against Oklahoma.

Bryce Petty, who threw for 239 of his 359 yards after halftime, connected with Antwan Goodley and Levi Norwood on fourth-quarter scoring strikes after the Cowboys jumped out to a 35-3 lead through three quarters. The Bears (9-1, 6-1) saw their school-record 13-game winning streak snapped and have dropped 11 straight in Stillwater, dating back to 1939.

Oklahoma State, which forced Baylor to punt five times in its first six drives, turned a first-quarter fumble by Shock Linwood into Staley’s first touchdown run. Chelf’s 12-yard second-quarter TD toss to Charlie Moore increased the lead to 14-0 before Aaron Jones hit a 29-yard field goal to get the Bears on the board with 13 seconds left before intermission.

The Cowboys pulled away with a 21-point third quarter, getting a 56-yard touchdown strike from Tracy Moore and Staley’s second short TD before Chelf added a 4-yard scoring run. Baylor marched down to the Oklahoma State 2 after Goodley’s touchdown, but Tyler Patmon recovered a poor shotgun snap to Petty and returned it 78 yards to stretch the margin to 42-10.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma State has won 18 of its last 19 home contests. … The Bears were rebuffed in their attempt to win three straight road games in league play for the first time in school history. … The Cowboys have scored at least 20 points in 50 consecutive games – the second-longest streak in Division I history.
