No. 18 UCLA 31, Arizona 26: Myles Jack played offense for the first time this season and made the move pay off by rushing for 120 yards and a touchdown to help the visiting Bruins remain in a tie for second in the Pac-12 South Division.

Jack, a freshman linebacker, also recovered a key fumble in the third quarter before breaking loose on a 66-yard touchdown run on his sixth career carry early in the fourth. Brett Hundley completed 18-of-25 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns and added 56 rushing yards and a score for the Bruins (7-2, 4-2 Pac-12), who have won eight straight against South Division opponents.

Arizona running back Ka’Deem Carey surpassed the 100-yard rushing mark for the 12th consecutive game, finishing with 149 yards and a touchdown, his only blemish the third-quarter fumble at the goal line with the Wildcats trailing by two touchdowns. B.J. Denker completed 20-of-33 passes for 186 yards and two touchdowns for the Wildcats (6-3, 3-3).

After the Bruins built a 14-3 lead on two first-quarter touchdowns, the Wildcats answered back with a 4-yard touchdown run from Carey, who moved into No. 2 on the school’s career rushing list with 3,575 yards. Hundley followed with a 4-yard touchdown strike to Shaquelle Evans, who finished with four catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns, and UCLA took a 21-10 lead into the half.

Both teams traded field goals in the third quarter before Denker narrowed the deficit to five on a 15-yard touchdown pass to Nate Phillips, followed by a failed two-point pass attempt. A minute later, Jack broke through the line of scrimmage for the 66-yard score, giving the Bruins another double-digit advantage.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Carey needs 249 yards to catch Trung Canidate for No. 1 on the school’s all-time rushing list. … UCLA was the last team to hold Carey to under 100 yards rushing when Carey finished with 54 in a 66-10 victory by the Bruins on Nov. 3 of last season. … Hundley’s father, Brett Sr., played running back for Arizona in 1986.
