Texas 36, No. 10 Oklahoma 20: Case McCoy passed for two touchdowns and Daje Johnson returned a punt 85 yards for a score as the Longhorns routed the Sooners in a Big 12 showdown at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Chris Whaley added a 31-yard interception return touchdown as Texas (4-2, 3-0 Big 12) halted a three-game losing skid against Oklahoma (5-1, 2-1). The Longhorns lost the previous two meetings by scores of 55-17 and 63-21.

McCoy was 13-of-21 for 190 yards while starting in place of David Ash (concussion). He tossed touchdown passes of 59 yards to Marcus Johnson and 38 yards to Mike Davis.

Whaley’s interception of Blake Bell gave the Longhorns a 10-3 lead late in the first quarter. Johnson’s touchdown catch and Anthony Fera’s 50-yard field goal boosted the advantage to 20-3.

The Sooners trailed 23-13 in the third quarter before Daje Johnson’s punt-return score midway through the stanza. McCoy teamed with Davis with 21 seconds left in the quarter to boost the lead to 23 points before Oklahoma’s Geneo Grissom intercepted a screen pass and returned it 54 yards for a touchdown with 10:07 remaining in the game.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Grissom’s interception was the first thrown by McCoy this season. … Texas RBs Johnathan Gray (123 yards) and Malcolm Brown (120) both topped 100 yards as the Longhorns piled up 255 yards on the ground. … Oklahoma's defense missed senior OLB Corey Nelson, who suffered a season-ending pectoral injury last week against Texas Christian.
