No. 13 Oklahoma 51, Tulsa 20: Blake Bell threw for 413 yards and four touchdowns in his first career start - two to Sterling Shepard - as the host Sooners took to the air to dominate the Golden Hurricane.

Bell, the 6-6, 252-pound junior, recorded 281 yards in the first half as Oklahoma (3-0), which had rushed for more than 300 yards in its first two victories, opened a 27-7 advantage en route to its 36th straight win when leading at the break. Shepard finished with eight catches for a career-high 123 yards.

Trey Watts, son of former Sooners standout quarterback J.C. Watts, compiled 125 yards from scrimmage, scored a touchdown and had a 77-yard punt return for Tulsa (1-2). Ja'Terian Douglas also rushed for a TD while Jordan James recorded 100 receiving yards on six catches for the Golden Hurricane.

Bell's first touchdown pass to Shepard - a 3-yarder - gave Oklahoma a 17-7 lead early in the second quarter, and his 29-yard strike to Roy Finch made it 24-7. The Sooners, who yielded a total of seven points in their first two games, also flexed their muscles on defense during the decisive second quarter, yielding 54 total yards.

Shepard's 35-yard touchdown catch came on Oklahoma's first drive of the third quarter and was set up by Jalen Saunders' 28-yard punt return. Bell, who finished 27-of-37, threw his final TD pass - a 25-yarder to Saunders - with 9:33 left to make it 44-20.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma senior DB Gabe Lynn was penalized for targeting and ejected in the first quarter, but was reinstated after video review. Lynn, whose penalty led to Watts' 2-yard touchdown run, recorded his second interception in as many weeks on the Golden Hurricanes' next possession and returned it 31 yards to set up Finch's score. ... Bell set a school record for passing yards in a first start, eclipsing the old mark of 363 set by Sam Bradford against North Texas in 2007. ... Oklahoma finished with 607 yards and 194 rushing, capped by freshman Keith Ford's first touchdown as a Sooner - a 3-yarder with 2:35 remaining to complete the scoring.
