Arizona 38, Texas-San Antonio 13: Ka'Deem Carey and B.J. Denker both scored two touchdowns as the Wildcats improved to 3-0 for the second straight season with an easy win over the visiting Roadrunners.
Carey scored on a pair of short runs for Arizona which has outscored its opponents 131-26 on the season. The All-American finished with 128 yards on 27 carries snapping his five-game streak with at least 170 yards rushing.
The dual-threat Denker was 14-for-21 passing for 158 yards and rushed for 90 yards on 10 carries. Denker scored on runs of 1 and 35 yards.
The Wildcats, who begin the Pac-12 Conference schedule against Washington in two weeks, spoiled UTSA coach Larry Coker's 100th game at the school. Sean Ianno opened the scoring for the Roadrunners with a 34-yard field goal marking the first time Arizona has trailed on the season. The Wildcats, however, quickly responded when Denker connected with Samajie Grant on a 13-yard pass giving them a 7-3 lead they never relinquished.
David Glasco II capped an impressive UTSA (1-2) drive in the fourth quarter with a 4-yard run. It was just the third TD the Wildcats have surrendered on the season.
GAME NOTEBOOK: UTSA quarterback Erik Soza was 30-for-46 passing for 277 yards and completed passes to 13 different receivers. ...Denker had 88 passing yards in the first quarter. He finished with 81 yards in Arizona's win over UNLV a week ago. ...Carey had a TD run negated by a penalty early in the fourth quarter but scored again on the very next play.
