No. 15 Oklahoma 16, West Virginia 7:
Brennan Clay rushed for a career-high 170 yards to lead the Sooners to a win in a mistake-filled Big 12 opener for both teams.

Redshirt freshman Trevor Knight went 10-of-20 for 119 yards and a touchdown for Oklahoma (2-0) but lost three turnovers before being replaced by junior Blake Bell. West Virginia (1-1) and Oklahoma combined for eight turnovers and 17 penalties.

Paul Millard was 21-of-41 for 218 yards and Dreamius Smith rushed for 77 yards on three carries, including a 75-yard touchdown run to put the Mountaineers ahead first. West Virginia's Kevin White led all receivers with seven catches for 80 yards.

The Mountaineers couldn't take advantage of four Oklahoma turnovers while the Sooners took an early lead after two West Virginia mistakes. A roughing-the-punter penalty led to the first of three Michael Hunnicutt field goals, and a fumbled punt set up Knight's 1-yard scoring pass to Trey Millard.

Knight threw two interceptions and West Virginia lost a fumble and an interception on four consecutive drives in the third quarter. Bell replaced Knight in the fourth and led his team to a field goal to set the final score with 10:16 left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma rushed for more than 300 yards in back-to-back games for the first time since 1997. ... West Virginia wore "CJ" decals on its helmet in memory of associate athletic director Curtis Jones, who passed away Wednesday. ... West Virginia LB Doug Rigg taken off on cart late in fourth quarter after a hard hit.
