Boston College 24, Wake Forest 10: Andre Williams had 35 carries for 204 yards and a score while Chase Rettig threw for two touchdowns as the Eagles defeated the Demon Deacons in the ACC opener for both teams.

Wake Forest committed three turnovers, including two first-half fumbles that led to Boston College touchdowns. Rettig was 7-of-14 for 123 yards for the Eagles (2-0, 1-0 ACC), who snapped a two-game losing streak against the Demon Deacons.

Tanner Price led the Wake Forest offense with 191 yards passing, and his 30-yard scoring strike to Michael Campanaro tied the game at 7 with 2:48 left in the first quarter. Campanaro, who missed last week's season-opening win over Presbyterian with a sore hamstring, finished with five receptions for 86 yards.

Nate Freese kicked a 33-yard field goal with less than a minute left in the first quarter to give Boston College a 10-7 lead before the Eagles recovered Price’s fumble at the end of the quarter and promptly scored on Rettig’s 22-yard touchdown pass to Spiffy Evans.

The Demon Deacons (1-1, 0-1 ACC) had first-and-goal at the Boston College 3 with 52 seconds left in the half, but they failed to score as Josh Harris was stuffed at the goal line on fourth down. Boston College carried the momentum into the second half, when Williams’ 2-yard TD run made it 24-7 with 1:54 left in the third quarter.
