Where: Jack Trice Stadium, Ames, Iowa
Temperature: 46°

Jeff Woody scored on a 4-yard touchdown in the second overtime as host Iowa State posted a mammoth 37-31 upset of No. 2 Oklahoma State on Friday at raucous Jack Trice Stadium.

The Cowboys (10-1, 7-1 Big 12), who were second in the BCS standings, will likely slide behind other one-loss teams Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma and Arkansas - barring another upset - when the new rankings are released Sunday. Oklahoma State closes the regular season at home against Oklahoma on Dec. 3.

Iowa State (6-4, 3-4) overcame a 17-point fourth-quarter deficit to force overtime and the teams traded touchdowns in the first extra period.

On Oklahoma State’s first play of the second overtime, Brandon Weeden’s pass was tipped and intercepted by Ter’Ran Benton, setting the stage for the Cyclones' first victory over a top-two team.

Woody ran up the middle on three straight plays, the last of which made the Cyclones bowl-eligible and sent thousands of fans spilling out onto the field.

Jared Barnett threw for 376 yards and three touchdowns, and carried the Cyclones after they fell behind 24-7 early in the third quarter.

Weeden, a Heisman Trophy candidate, finished 42-of-58 for 476 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions.

The Cowboys came into the game ranked first nationally in turnover margin, but they couldn’t overcome five turnovers, including two Joseph Randle fumbles.

Oklahoma State was playing with heavy hearts as news broke earlier in the day that women's basketball coach Kurt Budke and assistant Miranda Serna died in a plane crash.
