Tyler Bray threw four touchdowns and ran for another, eclipsing one of Peyton Manning’s school records along the way, and Tennessee rolled to a 45-23 victory over visiting Cincinnati on Saturday.

Da’Rick Rogers caught a pair of touchdowns for the Volunteers, who in Derek Dooley’s second season, are 2-0 for the first time since 2006. Tennessee ended a five-game losing streak to BCS opponents outside of the Southeastern Conference and now heads into its league opener against Florida next week brimming with confidence.

The Bearcats (1-1) couldn’t contain Bray, who has thrown at least two touchdowns in eight straight games, surpassing Manning’s school record of seven set in 1997. The sophomore finished 34-for-41 for a career-high 405 yards.

Bray's second touchdown to Rogers - a 15-yard strike that made it 28-14 with 1:15 left in the half - was highlight worthy. Rogers settled in the middle of the end zone and held on after being sandwiched by a pair of defenders. The sophomore's helmet popped straight into the air upon impact.

Tennessee turned the tide in the first half when it recovered a surprise onside kick in the first quarter and later stopped Cincinnati twice on fourth-and-short.
