The Michigan Wolverines defeated the Western Michigan Broncos 34-10 on Saturday after the schools mutually agreed to end the game with time dwindling in the third quarter. The game was delayed twice due to inclement weather during the third quarter, and nearly one hour into the second delay the decision was made not to finish the contest.

Michigan's Brandon Herron was the star of the day, returning an interception 96 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, and returning an Alex Carder fumble 29 yards for his second score of the day.

The Michigan defense showed that it still has work to do, yielding 12 catches for 119 yards to Broncos receiver Jordan White and allowing Carder plenty of easy short completions. In the end, the Wolverines came up with a multitude of big plays that kept the Broncos out of the end zone.

Denard Robinson threw for 98 yards and rushed for another 46, but the Wolverines' offense was not as dependent on him as it appeared much of last season. Fitzgerald Toussaint and Michael Shaw both found the end zone for the Wolverines, and Robinson only accounted for eight of the team’s 26 rushing attempts.
