Tulsa controlled the first half with its defense and sealed a 62-35 victory over Hawaii with its offense, Friday at the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl in Honolulu.

The Golden Hurricane (10-3) forced six Hawaii turnovers in the first half, returning two of its five interceptions for scores to take a 27-14 lead into halftime.

The Warriors (10-4) scored on its first possession of the second half, but couldn't stop quarterback G.J. Kinne and the Hurricane offense.

Kinne completed 17-of-31 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns. Demaris Johnson, the nation's top all-purpose runner, ran for two touchdowns, caught a touchdown and set a bowl-record with 329 total yards (101 rushing, 101 receiving, 127 kick returns).

Hawaii quarterback Bryant Moniz, the nation's leading passer, threw for 403 yards and three touchdowns, but also threw four interceptions in the first half. Warriors' receiver Greg Salas caught 13 passes for 206 yards and two touchdowns in a losing effort.
