Georgia ended its longest losing streak in 20 years with a dominating win over Tennessee, 41-14, to earn its first SEC victory.

Looking like the Bulldogs that most people expected entering the season, Georgia jumped out to a 17-0 lead and never looked back. Quarterback Aaron Murray had his best day as a Bulldog, accounting for four touchdowns. The Georgia defense played its best game of the season, forcing three turnovers and holding the Vols to nine net yards rushing.

Murray, a freshman, threw for 266 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 41 yards and two more scores.

Georgia (2-4, 1-3), which had lost four in a row, scored on all six of its trips to the red zone, including five touchdowns. Tennessee dropped to 2-4, 0-3.

Murray put Georgia on the board with a 35-yard scamper midway through the first quarter. He closed the period with a nine-yard touchdown to Rantavious Wooten. A 22-yard strike to A.J Green expanded the Bulldogs’ lead to 24-7 midway through the second period and the rout was on. Green, in his second game back from suspension, led Georgia with 96 yards on six receptions.

The Bulldogs sacked Tennessee quarterback Matt Simms four times and intercepted him once. Justin Hunter led Tennessee with 110 yards receiving, including a 38-yard touchdown from Simms.
