Mark Ingram ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns in his season debut, and top-ranked Alabama racked up 627 total yards in routing Duke 62-13 on Saturday in Durham, N.C.

After missing the first two games while recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner didn't take long to make his presence known, going 48 yards on the first play from scrimmage and needing only three carries to top the 100-yard mark. Ingram scored first-quarter touchdowns of 1 and 17 yards to help Alabama build a 28-0 lead.

Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy threw for 258 yards and three touchdowns on 14-of-20 passing. McElroy also threw his first interception of the season, snapping a streak of 149 pass attempts without being picked off.

Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy also scored rushing touchdowns for the Crimson Tide, and Richardson added another score on a 96-yard kickoff return. Julio Jones caught five passes for 106 yards and a touchdown, and Darius Hanks and Preston Dial also had touchdown catches.

Duke (1-2) entered the game averaging 514.5 total yards per game, the ninth-highest total in the nation, but the Crimson Tide was up the challenge, holding the Blue Devils to 301 total yards.

Alabama (3-0) led 45-13 at halftime, piling up 383 yards in the first half and cruising to its 27th consecutive regular-season win.

Duke falls to 0-11 all-time against top-ranked teams and 3-9 against reigning national champions.
