Chance Nolan scored on a 1-yard quarterback sneak with 33 seconds remaining on his first career snap for Oregon State as the host Beavers recorded a 41-38 upset of No. 9 Oregon on Friday night at Corvallis, Ore.

Jermar Jefferson rushed for a season-best 226 yards and scored two touchdowns for Oregon State (2-2, 2-2 Pac-12).

Oregon's Tyler Shough completed 20 of 31 passes for 285 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions, and he rushed for a score. The Ducks (3-1, 3-1) lost to Oregon State for just the second time in the past 13 meetings.

Cyrus Habibi-Likio rushed for a 1-yard touchdown with 8:27 left to give the Ducks a 38-34 lead with 8:27 remaining.

Oregon State later made one final push and reached the Oregon 2-yard line in the final minute. Two quarterback sneaks by Tristan Gebbia were stopped at the 1 on both occasions. Gebbia sustained a left leg injury on the second attempt and exited with 36 seconds to play in favor of Nolan, who was able to thrust himself over the goal line for the decisive score.

The Ducks were not able to get into field-goal range before time expired.

Gebbia produced 263 yards and one touchdown on 23-of-37 passing before he left. He also ran for a score as he helped Oregon State outgain Oregon 532 yards to 468.

This was the 124th meeting, but the first since "Civil War" was dropped as the name of the contest between the bitter rivals.

Oregon State trailed by 12 points entering the fourth quarter and finished off a 16-play, 92-yard drive early in the stanza to move within 31-26. Gebbia capped off the excursion that lasted more than eight minutes on a 1-yard keeper with 13:26 left.

Just 48 seconds later, Nahshon Wright intercepted Shough and the Beavers took over at the Oregon 33-yard line. Gebbia completed a 31-yard pass to Kolby Taylor, and Jefferson scored from the 2 on the next play with 12:23 left. Gebbia added a two-point run to give Oregon State a 34-31 advantage.

The Ducks led 24-13 at halftime before Oregon State moved closer on Gebbia's 8-yard scoring pass to Zeriah Beacon with 8:57 left in the third quarter. A two-point conversion pass failed.

Oregon answered with a crisp six-play, 74-yard drive that ended with Shough tossing a 4-yard scoring pass to Hunter Kampmoyer to make it 31-19 with 6:43 remaining in the quarter.

Jefferson exploded through the Oregon defense and scored on an 82-yard scamper in the first quarter to tie the score at 7.

Shough's 1-yard keeper gave Oregon a 14-7 advantage with 5:21 left in the quarter. Shough's 60-yard touchdown pass to Devon Williams in the second quarter helped the Ducks build the 11-point halftime lead.
