Sam Noyer threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for a pair of scores to lead the visiting Colorado Buffaloes to a 35-32 win over the Stanford Cardinal on Saturday.
Dimitri Stanley had six receptions for 126 yards and a touchdown, Jarek Broussard rushed for 121 yards, Jaren Mangham ran for a touchdown and Brenden Rice also had a TD catch for the Buffaloes (2-0, 2-0 Pac-12).
Noyer finished 15-for-24 passing.
Davis Mills returned to the lineup to go 31-for-56 passing for 327 yards and a touchdown and also had 36 yards rushing and a TD for the Cardinal (0-2, 0-2).
Austin Jones ran for a score, Scooter Harrington caught a touchdown pass, Connor Wedington had eight receptions for 77 yards and Michael Wilson caught six passes for 95 yards for Stanford.
Noyer got his first TD pass late in the first quarter when he connected with Stanley for a 55-yard scoring strike to give the Buffaloes a 7-3 lead.
Jet Toner, who earlier kicked a 48-yard field goal, hit another from 33 yards to cut the Cardinal's deficit to a point but Colorado responded with Noyer's seven-yard run to make it 14-6.
Stanford capped an eight-play, 63-yard drive with Toner's third field goal of the game, this one from 28 yards out to bring the Cardinal within 14-9 at halftime.
The Buffaloes opened the second half with Noyer's 10-yard TD run and then he hit Rice for a 34-yard TD pass and a 19-point lead.
Mills drove Stanford 82 yards and cut the Buffaloes' lead to 28-16 with a two-yard run but Colorado answered with Mangham's two-yard TD run on the second play of the fourth quarter.
The Cardinal came back with two touchdowns and a pair of 2-point conversions in a span of 6:11. Jones scored on a two-yard run and after a Buffaloes punt, Mills threw a one-yard TD pass to Harrington with 2:34 left to make it 35-32.
La'Vontae Shenault recovered Stanford's onside-kick, and after a punt, the game ended on Stanford's failed desperation play.
