When: 7:30 PM ET, Wednesday, October 14, 2020
Where: Cajun Field, Lafayette, Louisiana
Temperature: 81°

Massimo Biscardi kicked a 40-yard field goal with four seconds remaining to give Coastal Carolina a 30-27 upset victory against No. 21 Louisiana in a Sun Belt Conference game Wednesday night in Lafayette, La.

Grayson McCall passed for two touchdowns and ran for a third as the Chanticleers (4-0) improved to 2-0 in the Sun Belt for the first time in their four seasons in the conference and matched their previous number of conference wins in each of those seasons.

McCall completed 17 of 24 passes for 202 yards.

CJ Marable caught one of McCall's touchdown passes and rushed for another score as Coast Carolina avenged a 48-7 home loss to Louisiana last season.

Levi Lewis connected on 14 of 24 passes for 173 yards and one touchdown and produced 84 yards and a touchdown on six carries for the Ragin' Cajuns (3-1, 2-1). Elijah Mitchell added two rushing touchdowns.

The score was tied 13-13 at halftime after each team missed an extra point.

McCall's 6-yard touchdown pass to Jaivon Heiligh gave the Chanticleers a 20-13 lead early in the third quarter.

Mitchell's 9-yard touchdown run pulled the Cajuns even at 20 at the end of the period.

McCall ran 3 yards for another touchdown, and Coastal Carolina, which won each of its previous three games by at least 15 points, led 27-20 less than a minute into the fourth quarter.

Mitchell's 1-yard touchdown run tied the score for the final time moments later.

The victory should move the Chanticleers closer to the AP Top 25. They have received votes in the rankings each of the past two weeks for the first time in the program's four-year FBS history.

The Cajuns opened the scoring with a 12-yard touchdown pass from Lewis to Jalen Williams.

Marable ran 1 yard for a touchdown that tied the score at the end of the first quarter.

Coastal Carolina took its first lead at 13-7 on McCall's 13-yard touchdown pass to Marable.

Lewis' 8-yard touchdown run pulled Louisiana even at halftime.

This game was postponed four days because of the threat to Louisiana from Hurricane Delta.
