K.J. Osborn caught a 32-yard touchdown pass from Jarren Williams with 58 seconds left to give Miami (Fla.) a 16-12 win at Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon.

Williams, a redshirt freshman who started the first four games of the season, came in for sophomore N'Kosi Perry in the fourth quarter to give the Hurricanes (4-4, 2-3 ACC) their first road victory of the year.

Pitt (5-3, 2-2) took a 12-10 lead with 7:19 left on a 29-yard field goal by junior Alex Kessman, his fourth of the game, having to lean on its run game after a normally potent pass attack was plagued by drops and mistakes.

The Panthers turned it over three times in the first half, two on interceptions thrown by junior Kenny Pickett and another on a fumble by junior receiver Taysir Mack. Miami converted two of those takeaways into scores, including a 1-yard touchdown run by sophomore Cam'Ron Harris to lead 10-3 with 12 minutes left in the second quarter.

Pitt ran for 176 yards, far above its season average of 120.7, but Pickett was just 18 of 32 for 146 yards with the two interceptions.

Miami won despite gaining only 208 yards, 62 coming on the game-winning drive. Williams threw for 50 yards on 4-of-8 passing while Perry was just 10 of 24 for 104 yards and an interception.

The Hurricanes gained only 54 rushing yards, yet it was the second time this season they won with fewer than 60 yards on the ground.

Pitt failed to score a touchdown for the second straight time against Miami, losing 24-3 on the road to end last season. Had the Panthers come out on top, it would have been their first victory without finding the end zone since a 6-3 win against rival West Virginia in 1987.
