JaMycal Hasty totaled 205 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns as No. 18 Baylor recorded a 45-27 victory over Oklahoma State on Saturday in a Big 12 game in Stillwater, Okla.
Hasty rushed for 139 yards on 15 carries and added 66 receiving yards on three catches for the Bears, who are off to their first 7-0 start since 2015. Baylor is 4-0 in the conference, tied for the lead with Oklahoma.
Charlie Brewer, who completed 13 of 17 passing attempts and threw for 312 yards and a touchdown, added his sixth rushing touchdown of the season as the Bears overcame a season-high 10-point deficit by scoring 35 points in the second half.
Oklahoma State's Chuba Hubbard, the nation's leading rusher, ran for 171 yards and two touchdowns. LD Brown added a 68-yard score for the Cowboys (4-3, 1-3), who have lost six of their past eight games against Baylor.
Hubbard's second touchdown, a 3-yard run, gave Oklahoma State a 20-10 lead early in the third quarter before Baylor ignited its offense.
Tyquan Thornton's 78-yard reception set up Hasty's 5-yard touchdown run up the middle, and Josh Fleeks scampered 64 yards on a catch-and-run for a score on the next drive to give the Bears a 24-20 lead with 2:36 remaining in the third quarter.
The Cowboys regained the lead after Brown eluded a tackle and raced 68 yards for a score. But the Bears answered as Brewer capped a seven-play, 75-yard drive with a 2-yard run.
Baylor provided insurance with a sterling defensive play on the next drive. Defensive tackle Chidi Ogbonnaya stripped the ball from quarterback Spencer Sanders, and linebacker Terrel Bernard scampered 20 yards for a touchdown with eight minutes remaining.
The Bears then forced a turnover on downs before Hasty provided the exclamation point by scampering 73 yards down the sideline for the final touchdown.
Baylor safety Chris Miller was ejected in the second quarter following a targeting penalty, and Hubbard made the Bears pay by capping that drive with a 2-yard touchdown run to give Oklahoma State a 13-7 lead with 4:15 remaining in the quarter.
