Tylan Wallace caught two touchdowns passes, and Chuba Hubbard added three scores on the ground as Oklahoma State defeated Oregon State 52-36 in both teams' season opener in Corvallis, Ore., on Friday night.

Wallace scored on a 36-yard touchdown pass from redshirt freshman quarterback Spencer Sanders, weaving through Beavers defenders on a screen pass to open up a 14-point advantage for the Cowboys in the second quarter.

Wallace struck again on a 21-yard touchdown grab from Sanders with 2:02 left in the first half that capped off an eight-play, 80-yard drive to give Oklahoma State a 31-10 lead.

The Cowboys were equally successful in the ground game as Hubbard rushed for a 6-yard touchdown to cap off a nine-play, 70-yard drive that tied the game 7-7 in the first quarter. His earlier 33-yard run helped put the Cowboys in scoring position.

Hubbard added a game-high 53-yard scoring run that gave Oklahoma State a 45-23 lead in the third quarter, and he finished the game with a career-high 221 rushing yards on 26 attempts.

Wallace, who was second in the FBS with 1,491 receiving yards last season, had five catches for 92 yards in the game. Hubbard's 12 career touchdowns scored are the most at the school since Mike Gundy became head coach (2005).

The Cowboys took a 17-10 lead when LD Brown rushed for a five-yard touchdown. Oklahoma State's top playmakers were active on the 88-yard drive, as Wallace hauled in a 23-yard catch and Hubbard added a 26-yard rush. Sanders found Landon Wolf on a 20-yard play that put Oklahoma State on the Beavers' five-yard line to set up Brown's plunge.

Sanders was efficient throwing the ball in his first career start, completing 19 of 24 passes for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Going forward, he leads an offensive trio that could rank among the most productive in the nation.

Oregon State moved the ball easily on their first drive, with quarterback Jake Luton leading the Beavers on a six-play, 70-yard drive in under two minutes, connecting with Isaiah Hodgins on a 29-yard touchdown pass for a quick 7-0 lead.

Luton led two more touchdown drives, locating Tyjon Lindsey from 1 yard out with three seconds left in the first half, and the second score of the game for Hodgins. Backup quarterback Jack Colletto rushed for another touchdown in the second half and Kolby Taylor caught a 5-yard touchdown from another quarterback, Tristan Gebbia.

Luton completed 23 of 42 passes for 251 yards and three touchdowns.
