KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Top-ranked Alabama literally ran over No. 9 Tennessee on Saturday and remained unbeaten with a 49-10 victory in Neyland Stadium.

Behind 438 rushing yards, the Crimson Tide dominated the Volunteers in the Southeastern Conference rivalry game.

"We were just making a lot of corrections on the sidelines and they were throwing a lot at us as far as (defensive) pressure early on," Alabama offensive lineman Ross Pierschbacher said. “I think the guys did really good correcting those and going forward. Our running backs did really good, so it was just fun to watch and fun to be a part of."

Alabama (7-0, 4-0 SEC) has now won 19 consecutive games while handing Tennessee (5-2, 2-2) a critical loss.

"Pretty simple game -- it's a line of scrimmage game, when you give up 438 rushing yards and offensively you have 32 yards rushing, you're not giving yourself an opportunity," Tennessee coach Butch Jones said.

In a sequence indicative of Alabama's domination, quarterback Jalen Hurts improvised on a busted play to pick up 21 yards to set up a 2-yard touchdown run by Hurts that broke the game open at 28-7 with 9:02 left in the third quarter.

"We had way too many missed tackles," Jones said. "We have to execute better."

Tennessee kicker Aaron Medley added a 37-yard field goal to make it 28-10 with four minutes left in the third quarter, but Hurts answered with another rushing touchdown to make it 35-10.

Before you could blink, Alabama's special teams joined the scoring. Crimson Tide safety Eddie Jackson returned a punt 79 yards for a score to make it 42-10.

The punt return gave Alabama its 11th touchdown this season by the defense or special teams -- the most in a season during the Nick Saban era.

"We feel pretty good as a team," Jackson said. "I think this is one of the most complete games we've played as a team. We still had two turnovers on offense and have some things we need to work on, but it was a good game. Everyone came in and executed and played four quarters of football."

Alabama tacked on another score when running back Bo Scarbrough broke free for an 85-yard touchdown to make it 49-10.

Alabama led 21-7 led at halftime.

On its second possession of the game, Alabama capped an eight-play, 91-yard drive with a 29-yard rushing touchdown from wide receiver ArDarius Stewart.

Stewart's score came off a trick play. Hurts took the snap and flipped the ball to receiver Calvin Ridley, who then pitched it to Stewart for the score.

As it has all season, Alabama's defense got in on the scoring. Alabama safety Ronnie Harrison intercepted Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs and returned it 58 yards for a touchdown to make it 14-0.

Tennessee's defense came up with a big play early in the second quarter. Defensive lineman Derek Barnett beat Alabama left tackle Cam Robinson off the edge and sacked Hurts, who fumbled and Tennessee recovered. That set up a 7-yard touchdown from Vols running back Alvin Kamara to make it 14-7.

Alabama's offense responded on its ensuing drive. Hurts used his speed to get to the corner and broke open a 45-yard touchdown run for a 21-7 lead.

Alabama moved in position for a field goal at the end of the half, but kicker Adam Griffith missed from 37 yards.

NOTES: After being questionable all week, Alabama LB Reuben Foster (concussion) started on Saturday. ... Alabama starting G Alphonse Taylor (concussion) did not play in the game. Sophomore Lester Cotton started in Taylor's place. ... Tennessee DL Derek Barnett intercepted a pass and forced a fumble. ... Tennessee played with three starting offensive linemen, its leading tackler on defense and multiple other key players because of injury.
