Temperature: 58°

LSU 23, Texas A&M 17:
Leonard Fournette ran for 146 yards and a touchdown as the visiting Tigers dominated on the ground to down the Aggies.

Anthony Jennings threw for 107 yards and a touchdown and added 119 yards on 14 carries for LSU (8-4, 4-4 SEC), which rolled up 384 yards on the ground. John Diarse caught a TD pass and Terrence Magee added 74 rushing yards as the Tigers avoided a third straight loss.

Kyle Allen went 17-of-27 for 144 yards, one touchdown and an interception as Texas A&M (7-5, 3-5) had its offense on the field for less than 19 minutes. Trey Williams ran for 62 yards and a score on four carries and Speedy Noil hauled in a TD catch for the Aggies.

LSU dominated the first half, outgaining Texas A&M 286-85, and tied it on Fournette’s bruising 22-yard run with 4:33 left in the second before taking a 14-7 lead on Jennings’ 10-yard TD pass to Diarse with 34 seconds remaining. Noil fumbled the ensuing kickoff and the Tigers had the ball at the Aggies 9-yard line with 13 seconds left but elected to kick a field goal on second down instead of taking another shot at the end zone and settled for a 17-7 lead at the half.

LSU was forced to settle for a 27-yard field goal after opening the third quarter with a 13-play drive, and Texas A&M finally put something together in the fourth quarter with a 34-yard field goal and Allen’s 27-yard TD pass to Noil that cut it to 20-17 with 6:42 to play. The Tigers responded with a field goal and the Aggies caught a rough break when an apparent offside penalty on LSU went uncalled as Allen sent up a floater that was intercepted.

GAME NOTEBOOK:
Texas A&M DB Armani Watts was ejected for targeting a defenseless receiver with 17 seconds left in the second quarter. … Aggies OL Ben Compton injured his ankle and came back into the game after being re-taped but left the game again in the fourth quarter after making a reception. … LSU had two different kickers (Colby Delahoussaye and Trent Domingue) miss field-goal attempts.
