Utah 27, No. 5 Stanford 21: Dres Anderson scored two touchdowns while Travis Wilson passed for a pair as the host Utes held on to stun the Cardinal while snapping their 13-game winning streak.

Bubba Poole rushed for 111 yards for Utah (4-2, 1-2 Pac-12 South), which forced Stanford to turn the ball over on downs at the Utes' 6-yard line with 47 seconds left. Wilson, who threw six interceptions in his last game - a 34-27 loss to UCLA on Oct. 3 - was 23-of-34 for 234 yards with one pick against Stanford.

Ty Montgomery returned a kickoff for a touchdown for the second straight week and had a career-high 131 receiving yards while Tyler Gaffney rushed for 108 yards and a score for the Cardinal (5-1, 3-1 Pac-12 North). Kevin Hogan was 15-of-27 for 246 yards in losing for the first time in 11 career starts.

After Montgomery's 100-yard kickoff return gave Stanford a 14-7 lead midway through the first, Utah tied it with 10 seconds left in the quarter on Wilson's 51-yard touchdown pass to Anderson. The Utes took a 21-14 halftime lead when Anderson capped an 11-play, 99-yard drive with a 3-yard run and 3:48 remaining.

Utah expanded its lead to 27-14 on a pair of Andy Phillips field goals - the second a 48-yarder with 14:13 to go. Stanford got to within six on Devon Cajuste's 7-yard touchdown catch with 9:22 left and marched deep into Utah territory in the final minute, but Hogan's fourth-and-two pass into the end zone sailed over the head of Ryan Hewitt.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Utah registered its second victory over a top-five team in school history - the first was a 31-17 win over No. 4 Alabama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl. ... Montgomery's 100-yard kickoff return tied a school record after he returned one 99 yards to begin last week's 31-28 victory over No. 19 Washington. ... The Cardinal had allowed 10 first-half points in their previous three Pac-12 games.
