No. 7 Louisville 30, Temple 7: Teddy Bridgewater threw for 348 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the visiting Cardinals pulled away from the winless Owls.

Bridgewater, who has thrown a touchdown pass in 17 straight games, completed 25-of-35 passes for Louisville in its first AAC contest. Eli Rogers caught five passes for 74 yards and a score for the Cardinals (5-0, 1-0 AAC), who lost their shutout in the final minute.

Freshman P.J. Walker took over at quarterback for Temple (0-5, 0-2) in the first quarter, replacing starter Connor Reilly, and completed 10-of-19 passes for 182 yards. After the Owls blocked a punt with a little over a minute left, Walker connected with Jalen Fitzpatrick for a 9-yard score three plays later.

Louisville didn’t waste any time taking control as Bridgewater capped an opening 11-play drive with a nifty play fake and 1-yard scoring toss to tight end Gerald Christian. John Wallace connected on the first of three short field goals with 59 seconds left in the first quarter and Dominique Brown bulled in from 5 yards for a score early in the second for the Cardinals.

Walker connected with Robbie Anderson for 58 yards to set up a field goal attempt for the Owls, but Nick Visco’s kick was blocked. The Cardinals capitalized as Bridgewater went 6-of-6 on a drive that ended with a 15-yard touchdown strike to Rogers up the middle for a 24-0 lead only 37 seconds before halftime.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Louisville WR DeVante Parker, who leads the team in receiving yards, suffered a right shoulder injury in the first quarter and did not return. … Temple DB Jahad Thomas returned six kickoffs for 124 total yards. … Louisville is 5-0 for the third time in the last 11 seasons and the sixth time since 1946.
