Miami 40, South Florida 9: Stephen Morris threw for 413 yards and three touchdowns and the Hurricanes had three receivers eclipse the 100-yard mark as they toppled the Bulls at Sun Life Stadium.

Clive Walford (135 yards), Herb Waters (130) and Phillip Dorsett (104) led the Miami receiving corps, with Dorsett pulling in a career-high 11 catches as the Hurricanes (6-5) hung 548 total yards on the South Florida defense.

USF backup quarterback Bobby Eveld started the game in place of B.J. Daniels (broken leg), but suffered a left shoulder injury on the second series and did not return. Matt Floyd filled in for the Bulls (3-7) and went 20-for-35 for 175 yards with a pair of interceptions.

Hurricanes dominated throughout the first half but settled for three field goals from Jake Wieclaw in establishing a 9-0 advantage 5:17 into the second quarter. Two plays later, after a James Gaines interception at the South Florida 21, Morris found Kendal Thompkins for a 15-yard score to put Miami up 16-0.

Leading 16-3 to start the second half, Duke Johnson capped a 10-play, 76-yard drive with an 8-yard touchdown run to extend the lead. The Hurricanes cruised from there.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Miami recorded its fourth win in five games against USF ... The Hurricanes have forced 22 turnovers (11 interceptions and 11 fumbles) on the season - six more than they managed a year ago ... USF head coach Skip Holtz removed Eveld's redshirt to allow him to start against the Hurricanes.
