Penn State 34, Purdue 9: Matt McGloin passed for 321 yards and two touchdowns and the visiting Nittany Lions turned in a strong defensive effort to send the Boilermakers to their fifth consecutive loss.
Michael Zordich ran for a pair of first-half touchdowns for Penn State (6-3, 4-1 Big Ten), Zach Zwinak rushed for 134 yards and Brandon Moseby-Felder had six catches for 129 yards and a touchdown as Penn State rolled up 506 total yards.
Purdue (3-6, 0-5) came in averaging 30.9 points per game, but the Boilermakers were able to score only twice, getting a 21-yard field goal from Sam McCartney on their opening possession and a 2-yard touchdown pass from Caleb TerBush to Antavian Edison on the final play of the game.
The Boilermakers finished with 375 total yards. Sixth-year senior quarterback Robert Marve was lifted after going 22-for-39 for 138 yards; TerBush went 10-for-20 for 155 yards and a touchdown in relief.
McGloin's fifth career 300-yard passing game makes him the school's all-time leader in the category, breaking a tie with Kerry Collins. He also has 40 career touchdown passes, moving ahead of Collins (39) for the fifth-most in Penn State history.
