Penn State 38, Iowa 14: Matthew McGloin threw for 289 yards and two touchdowns and Bill Belton rushed for three touchdowns as the visiting Nittany Lions cruised to a one-sided victory over the Hawkeyes.

Penn State (5-2, 3-0 Big Ten), which has won five in a row, led 24-0 at halftime, rolling up 304 yards on 50 plays while holding Iowa to only five yards rushing. The Nittany Lions finished with a 504 to 209 edge in total yards and scored the game's first 38 points.

Both of McGloin's touchdown passes came in the first quarter when Penn State took a 14-0 lead. His first, a 31-yarder to freshman tight end Jesse James, capped a 9-play, 84-yard drive while his second, an 8-yarder to sophomore wide receiver Allen Robinson, came three plays after McGloin connected with freshman tight end Kyle Carter for 34 yards on fourth-and-3 at the Iowa 45.

Belton scored his first three touchdowns of the season of runs of 11, 3 and 5 yards, the last of which upped the Nittany Lions' lead to 38-0 with 14:25 left in the game. Jordan Cotton return the ensuing kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown to finally get the Hawkeyes on the board.

Iowa (4-3, 2-1), which has been plagued by a series of injuries in the offensive line, finished with only 23 yards rushing on 22 attempts. James Vandenberg completed 17 of 36 passes for 189 yards and a touchdown but was also intercepted twice.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Iowa placekicker Mike Meyer, who had connected on 13 straight field goal tries entering the game, missed two in a row in the first half from 49 and 37 yards. ... McGloin, who entered the game leading the Big Ten in passing with an average of 249.8 yards per game, has thrown for 200 yards or more in five consecutive games. ... Penn State has outscored opponents 66-0 in the first quarter this season.
