UCLA 21, Utah 14: Redshirt freshman quarterback Brett Hundley threw for one touchdown and rushed for another as the host Bruins held off the stubborn Utes.

Johnathan Franklin added a touchdown for UCLA (5-2, 2-2 Pac-12), which allowed 481 yards in a 43-17 loss at California last week but yielded only 315 on Saturday. The Bruins also applied consistent pressure on Utah freshman quarterback Travis Wilson, who was making his first start.

Hundley was 15-of-21 for 183 yards, including a 64-yard touchdown pass to Shaquelle Evans with 3:24 left in the first quarter to give UCLA the lead for good at 14-7. He also rushed for 68 yards, including a 12-yard run to make it 7-0.

Franklin, who rushed for only 79 yards after entering the game seventh in the country with 800, scored on a 3-yard touchdown run to cap a 14-play, 66-yard drive and give the Bruins a 21-7 lead with 6:04 remaining in the third quarter. The Bruins finished with 171 yards rushing against a Utah defense which was allowing only 114.8 yards per game.

Wilson was 22-of-32 for 216 yards with an interception for Utah (2-4, 0-3), which has lost three straight. Wilson's helmet was knocked off and by rule had to leave the field for one play, so Jon Hays stepped in and threw a 1-yard touchdown pass to Dres Anderson to make it 21-14 with 3:16 remaining.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Wilson was 8-of-10 for 98 yards and a touchdown prior to Saturday. He replaced the struggling Hays, who has not passed for 200 or more yards in 12 career starts. ... UCLA has never lost to Utah at home (6-0). ... The Bruins, who led the Pac-12 with 22 sacks through six games, recorded two Saturday and have 24 this season. They recorded 14 in 2011.
