Joe Bergeron scored on a 2-yard run with 29 seconds left as the Longhorns defeated the Cowboys in a back-and-forth Big 12 game in Stillwater, Okla.

Oklahoma State (2-2, 0-1) took a 36-34 lead on a 24-yard field goal by Quinn Sharp with 2:34 remaining before Texas (4-0, 1-0) drove 75 yards on eight plays with Bergeron’s dive accounting for the decisive points.

Longhorns quarterback David Ash threw three touchdown passes to Jaxon Shipley and connected with D.J. Grant for 29 yards on fourth-and-6 during the winning drive. Ash also had a 32-yard completion to Mike Davis two plays before Bergeron’s winning score. Ash was 30 of 37 passing for 304 yards, and Shipley’s three receiving touchdowns were a career high.

Oklahoma State’s Joseph Randle rushed for 199 yards and two touchdowns, including a 2-yarder to give the Cowboys a 33-28 lead with 9:36 remaining. Bergeron scored on a 1-yard run to give Texas a one-point lead with 5:48 left.

The teams combined for 35 first-quarter points. Shipley caught touchdown passes of 44 and 20 yards from Ash and D.J. Monroe notched his third career kickoff return for a touchdown, taking it back 100 yards. Oklahoma State scored on a 69-yard run by Randle and a 44-yard pass from J.W. Walsh to Josh Stewart.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oklahoma State increased its streak of scoring 30 or more points to 22 consecutive games, longest in the nation. … Ash was intercepted for the first time this season and his three touchdown passes gave him 10 this season. … Randle has topped 100 rushing yards in all four games this season and 10 times in his career.
