No. 19 Texas Christian clinched a share of its third straight Mountain West title with a 34-10 victory over visiting Colorado State on Saturday.
The Horned Frogs (9-2, 6-0 MWC), who are leaving for the Big 12 next season, won their sixth straight game and 23rd straight MWC contest, and remain in contention for a BCS bowl bid.
Waymon James ran for 107 yards and Matthew Tucker rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown as TCU didn’t need to throw much.
Rams freshman quarterback Garrett Grayson, starting for the injured Pete Thomas (knee), passed for 244 yards, including a 66-yard touchdown to Raymond Carter. But he threw an interception to All-American linebacker Tank Carder, who returned it 69 yards to make it 27-3 in the third quarter.
Colorado State (3-7, 1-4), which has lost six straight, has been outscored 237-58 in losing eight straight to TCU.
