Sean Mannion threw four touchdown passes and Oregon State rolled to a surprisingly dominant 44-21 win Saturday over Washington State at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
Malcolm Agnew topped 100 yards rushing for the second time in his career as Oregon State (2-5, 2-2 Pac-12) beat Washington State (3-4, 1-3 Pac-12) for the fourth time in the last five years.
The Beavers had lost nine out of their last 11 games going back to last season, but they stormed to a 34-14 lead after three quarters.
Oregon State, which outgained the Cougars 175-83 in rushing yards, controlled the ball for 11:42 of the third quarter.
After the Cougars closed to within 13 points, Oregon State secured the victory with Mannion’s 18-yard touchdown pass to Clayton York midway through the fourth quarter. Mannion was 26-of-34 passing for 376 yards.
Washington State lost its third straight and now faces an uphill battle to remain bowl eligible. The Beavers outgained the high-powered Cougars offense 551-315 in total yards.
