BOXSCORE | RECAP
Missouri 52, Iowa State 17
When: 2:00 PM ET, Saturday, October 15, 2011
Where: Faurot Field, Columbia, Missouri
Temperature: 63°
Head Official: Greg Burks
Attendance: 71004

James Franklin threw three touchdown passes and ran for a pair of scores as Missouri picked up its first Big 12 Conference win of the year with a 52-17 rout over Iowa State Saturday at Faurot Field.

Franklin, a sophomore quarterback, had two of his touchdowns in the first half as the Tigers (3-3, 1-2 Big 12) took a 31-10 lead at halftime.

Missouri racked up 583 yards of total offense on the Cyclones (3-3, 0-3 Big 12), who allowed 49 points in last week’s loss to Baylor and fell to 0-3 in the conference for the first time since 2008.

Both teams finished with three turnovers in what was a sloppy game, but the Tigers, led by Henry Josey’s 129 rushing yards and Michael Egnew’s six-catch, 105-yard effort, had more than enough firepower to overcome their miscues.

Josey and Egnew each had touchdowns for the Tigers, who defeated the Cyclones by at least 10 points for the fifth straight time. The win was Missouri’s 10th straight at home, which is tied for the second-longest home win streak in school history.

James White, who had the first 100-yard rushing game of his career last week against the Bears, was limited to just 61 yards on 14 carries.

Steele Jantz, the dazzling Iowa State quarterback, wasn’t much better. He finished with 161 passing yards but had two first-half fumbles, the first of which Missouri converted into a touchdown on the ensuing possession to take a 14-0 lead.

Franklin went 20-of-28 for 289 yards but also had a pair of interceptions. His touchdown pass to T.J. Moe early in the third quarter helped put the Tigers ahead by 28 points, putting any chance of a Cyclones comeback in serious doubt.
