LaMichael James rushed for a school-record 288 yards and scored twice to become Oregon’s career leader in touchdowns as the No. 13 Ducks rolled to a 56-31 victory over host Arizona on Saturday.

James surpassed the old mark of 285 set by Onterrio Smith in 2001 while surpassing 200 yards for the second consecutive contest.

James, who carried 23 times, scored on runs of 12 and 19 yards to surpass Derek Loville as Oregon’s all-time touchdowns leader with 47.

Darron Thomas accounted for four touchdowns (two passing, two rushing) and Kenjon Barner scored three touchdowns as Oregon (3-1, 1-0 Pac-12) recorded its 13th consecutive conference victory.

Nick Foles threw three touchdowns passes for Arizona (1-3, 0-2), which has lost three straight by a combined 75 points.

James’ second touchdown run gave Oregon a 35-3 lead late in the second quarter. The Wildcats responded with 21 consecutive points and were within 11 after Foles hit David Roberts for a 7-yard score and connected with David Douglas on a two-point conversion pass.

Oregon responded by driving 75 yards on eight plays with Thomas keeping the ball on 4th-and-1 and scoring on a 5-yard run to boost the lead to 42-24. On the Ducks’ next possession, James had runs of 48 and 22 yards to set up Barner’s 1-yard scoring run.

The Wildcats have lost six straight conference games and are 1-8 over their past nine contests. Arizona defeated Northern Arizona in its opener before being routed by Oklahoma State and Stanford.
