BOXSCORE | RECAP
California 36, Colorado 33
When: 3:30 PM ET, Saturday, September 10, 2011
Where: Folsom Field, Boulder, Colorado
Temperature: 72°
Head Official: Shawn Hochuli

Zach Maynard hit half-brother Keenan Allen with a 5-yard touchdown pass in overtime as visiting California spoiled record-setting performances by Colorado’s Tyler Hansen and Paul Richardson with a 36-33 victory.

The winning score was set up by Maynard’s 32-yard pass to Allen on first-and-30 from the Colorado 35. Will Oliver’s 22-yard field goal on the first possession of overtime gave Colorado a 33-30 lead

Hansen, a senior, set a school record with 474 yards passing, and career highs with 28 completions and 49 attempts. His three TDs tied a career high and his 78-yard TD was the longest completion of his career.

Richardson, a sophomore, set a school record with 284 receiving yards – including touchdown catches of 78 and 66 yards – and matched career highs in receptions (11) and touchdowns in a game (two). Richardson has 10 touchdowns in 14 career games.

The Bears blew a 10-point lead in the third quarter before C.J. Anderson’s 19-yard touchdown run with 9:55 left put the Bears back in front 30-27.

Oliver, a freshman, kicked three field goals, including a 32-yarder with 30 seconds left to make it 30-30. Oliver made a 52-yarder in the second quarter.

Maynard had three touchdown passes, including two to tight end Anthony Miller, and Isi Sofele rushed for 126 yards as California started 2-0 for the fifth consecutive season.

The meeting between the Pac-12 teams did not count as a conference game because the home-and-home series was scheduled before Colorado became a member of the Pac-12. California won 52-7 last season.
