Where: Independence Stadium, Shreveport, Louisiana
Temperature: 48°

Air Force forced four turnovers and pieced together just enough offense for a 14-7 Independence Bowl victory over Georgia Tech Monday in Shreveport, La.

In a low-scoring game between two mirror image option teams, neither squad could get much going on offense. The difference were the turnovers.

The Falcons recovered a fumble inside their own 5-yard line and two muffed punts in the third quarter. The second muffed punt recovery led to Jared Tew's short go-ahead touchdown run. Air Force converted the two-point try and led 14-7 with 13:24 to play, despite having less than 20 yards of offense through the first 16 minutes of the second half.

Air Force gobbled up nine minutes of the fourth quarter with a 17-play, 70-yard drive, but Zack Bell missed what would have been a clinching 37-yard field goal with 1:57 to play. Georgia Tech drove inside the Air Force 25 yard line, but Jon Davis made a leaping interception at the goal line to seal the Falcons' second straight bowl win.

The Falcons (9-4) picked up their ninth win, despite finishing with only 287 yards of offense, 170 coming on the ground. Georgia Tech (6-7) had 287 rushing yards, but couldn't come up with big completion on its last drive.

Anthony Allen's 5-yard touchdown run accounted for the Yellow Jackets' only points of the game and put them ahead 7-3 late in the first quarter.
