Indiana quarterback Ben Chappell left the game in the second quarter with a right hip injury. He completed 8-of-14 passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.

Mitch Ewald's 48-yard field early in the second period tied the game for Indiana (4-6, 0-6 Big Ten) before Wisconsin, ranked No. 5 in this week's coaches poll, took control of the game.

Ball, subbing for No. 1 running back John Clay, who didn't play because of a knee injury, scored on a 1-yard run to put Wisconsin ahead for good. White then ran 30 yards for a touchdown before Ball scored for the third time on a 8-yard run for a 31-10 lead with 2:20 left in the half.

Tolzien hit Nick Toon on a 4-yard pass in the final minute of the half, and Tolzien added two scoring passes in the third quarter, a 2-yarder to Jake Byrne and an 11-yarder to Lance Kendricks.

Ball's 1-yard run gave Wisconsin a quick 7-0 lead, but Chappell's 2-yard pass to Tandon Doss tied the game. Philip Welch's 32-yard field goal gave Wisconsin a 10-7 lead.
