Dustin Hopkins blasted a 55-yard field goal as time expired to lift the Florida State Seminoles to a 16-13 victory against the Clemson Tigers on Saturday, keeping the Seminoles' ACC title hopes alive.
Hopkins missed two field goals, including a 40-yard potential game-winner, in last week's 37-35 loss to North Carolina, but he was 3-for-3 against the Tigers. His winning kick soared through the uprights with plenty of room to spare.
Backup quarterback E.J. Manuel led the winning drive for Florida State (7-3, 5-2 ACC) and finished with 210 yards on 15-of-24 passing and 71 rushing yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.
Manuel started in place of Christian Ponder, who missed the game because of a ruptured bursa sac near his right elbow.
Clemson's Chandler Catanzaro, who had missed one field goal earlier and had another blocked, kicked a 29-yard field goal with 53 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 13.
Jamie Harper rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown for Clemson. The Tigers (5-5, 3-4 ACC) were without leading rusher Andre Ellington, who missed a second consecutive game with a sprained ligament in his foot.
Clemson's Kyle Parker threw for 239 yards on 28-of-44 passing with no touchdowns and two interceptions. DeAndre Hopkins caught eight passes for 106 yards for the Tigers.
Rodney Smith had 121 yards on four catches for the Seminoles.
