Ricky Stanzi passed for 190 yards and three touchdowns as No. 19 Iowa made a statement by dominating previously undefeated No. 5 Michigan State, 37-6, on Saturday.
Adam Robinson added 69 rushing yards and a touchdown for the Hawkeyes (6-2, 3-1 Big Ten), who forced three turnovers in the first half en route to earning bowl eligibility.
Iowa took control from the start, marching 80 yards in 12 plays on the opening drive, with Stanzi hitting Colin Sandeman down the middle for a 3-yard score. The Hawkeyes added a field goal and then forced their first turnover on the ensuing drive. Tyler Sash picked off Kirk Cousins and lateraled the ball to Micah Hyde, who ran it 66 yards for the touchdown.
Stanzi threw another touchdown pass and Robinson ran for a 2-yard score in the second quarter to give Iowa a 30-0 lead at the break.
Michigan State (8-1, 4-1) defensive end Chris Rucker, who was arrested and jailed for a probation violation last week, entered the game in the second quarter.
